There’s the spirit!
Now, SPEEEEEETCH:
Yeah, what i take from 2010 (including the 2011 end-off) and the rather long BC2 league, is that we have had no consistency really.
When we had our own server and we finally bolted down a consistent week on week team, we absolutely nailed everyone in our path, in fact we managed to stop DAC (our yard stick in BC2 IMHO for 2010) and win everything.
Each time, it’s been too little too late, it’s been a hap-hazard year with half the team line-up changing with each leg.
This portion of the Leg, as Paul said, was particularly challenging, with no server to practice on at will (like we had when we owned a server), sheer lack of members on public servers, our superb new players, and frankly no strategic planning at all really, has made for what I see as a success rather than a failure. Amidst all this we got through to the knockout stages and held our own pretty well when we faced the stronger teams.
Potentially we could be as good as the likes of sG. You may think this is unlikely, but it is true if you give it some thought. When we had our own server, several of us would log in every night and try hundreds of different things, followed, the next day by an explanation of their findings. In the case of Arica, personally, I would have logged on, gone up the hill behind B to see what my cover and spotting area’s were, then think about if I were the opposing team, where the best line to move though the map would be. Followed by moving further down to B to the Top building and looking around.
It’s these kinds of things, we previously ran through, then got everyone on the server for a brief explanation, followed by naming area’s and buildings for easy identification.
When the year rolled up and BC2 ended just before r4ge, we all assumed that that was it and that it was pointless to keep our server, oh Murphy and your hind sight, twenty twenties in the back pocket eh?
The point I’m trying to reach here, is that we have the potential to be great, even the best. Let’s not get disheartened. It’s been a pretty good year, with ups and downs. This last leg could have gone better if we were more prepared and had stronger commitment and less ‘life’ issues. The most important thing is that we participated and had fun doing it. TBH, I think we’ve done well to maintain our name as the coolest Clan in the battlefield community, we don’t have to be the strongest, but we most definitely are the most awesome!
