Interesting reading all the comments.
I recon my favourite position as at now is definately in a tank either on the secondary gun or in the driver seat with the main guns. However, the main gun in most of the tanks are useless to take out infantry hence without a good gunner trying to conquer a map with the tank is useless. If you have a driver that is not driving around like a mad-horse the gunner could use the zoom function on the secondary gun and then it is really dangerous for the enemy. However, I've found that the tanks tend to lose their effectiveness if infantry can approach from the sides / rear. Very very effective in the rush modes when the enemy movements are predicatble.
When tanking fails, due to no gunner, close combat etc, then it is definately time to pull out the medic kit. Even the stock standard gun in the medic kit is an awesome weapon.
I haven't played assualt that much yet, just enough to ensure I can supply ammo in need. So I'll reserve judgement on that one.
I've tried to play recon, and though it is ok, it seems to lack some of the action (with the sniper rifle). However, saying that, I never walk past a recon kit in the field without picking it up, hitting 4, toss some sensor mines, and pick up my original kit again. BTW, this also works wonders for both the medic and asualt kits. Nothing like pikcing up a medic kit, toss out his med pack, and then continue with your current kit, only to receive some "squad heal" notification 10 minutes later on in the game. AAH bonus!!
Phatso, youve mention that FIB ain't our main competition and yes, I fully agree with you. I note that even some of the HF guys are now higher ranked than what we are. Saying that, I really like the tactical nature of the game which allows it for strategic planning / organising much more effectively than in COD or BF2. I think that the winning squad will not necessarily be the better individual players, but the team who have the best strategy. I am really curious to see what the rules of the league will be because that will determine if we need a RTS mentality to win or a hardcore quake mentality.
