On the 9th October 2014, [grrr]Squad Clan members will arrive in Johannesburg, specifically at the Heatherdale Guest House to start the annual GRRR4ge event.
The annual pilgrimage to Johannesburg for a Clan get-together marks the 8th consecutive visit to the City to visit the Coca-Cola dome for the NAG LAN r4ge expo.
Since 2007, the entire weekend is documented and used in another tradition, the Annual GRRR4ge Video, with the previous years video being officially screened at the Saturday nights Final weekends festivities, aka "The GRRR Braai".
The entire weekend Event itself is a tradition, bringing together old and new members to celebrate the year of gaming and online activities.
The arrival on Thursday night begins the festivities and will find many of the members having the first unofficial party of the weekend. Drinks and food aplenty, this ice breaker night is the unofficial burner evening and sets the tone for the entire weekend.
All members are hereby warned
Thursday night is "LARGE AND IN CHARGE" and likely to burn hard, so be mindful to look after your liver, as there is a long weekend ahead.
Members are to come and go as they please, with the only Official must-attend event being "The GRRR Braai" on the Saturday night.
The GRRR Braai is the most important official activity for the weekend, where the Newly Elected Clan Leader for the Year is announced and the outbound leader is thrown into the pool, another grrreat tradition.
[grrr]Squad almost always invites many other Clan members and Clan friends for the Braai, which is seen to be an important "we are the community" attribute of the [GRRR]Squads ethos, which makes [grrr]Squad one of the most popular clans in the country.
Work at the DGC
It is not ALL fun and games, well, it is, but some of it is ACTUALLY work.
The Official capacity of the NAG Lan @r4ge in Johannesburg at the Coca-Cola dome is not to serve the whims of [grrr]Squad as it surely should be, rather, this is the Final battle for the year for the DoGaming League (DGL) and is renamed the DoGaming Championships (DGC) for the final TOP qualifying teams.
