DGL Leg 1 Playoffs (Newcomers Cup)

Howzit guys,
So I wanted to start some discussion around our roadmap for the 2012 BF3 DoGaming League. I know there’s some uncertainty, so time to clear it up! You can see the details and format of the competition going forward here:

The long and short of it is that we face a series of 3 playoffs – each is a Cup Playoff which determines Division seeding. In each playoff, we are seeded and will play each opponent on 3 different maps over a period of 2 weeks based off one elimination.
We have just finished the round robin for seeding of the 1st Leg playoffs of the League. Shortly, we will be issued our final seedings and our opponents for Leg 1 playoffs, but I have tried to work it out myself to get an idea of our roadmap to First Division.
We finished 6th out of 7 in Group A. That qualifies us for the “Newcomers Cup” (3/3). If we finish top 8 in our Cup, we will be promoted to the next division and Cup. As long as we win our first three matches in each playoff, we should qualify for the top 8.
Obviously, if we win all our matches in each playoff, we will get the best seed possible – we will get matched with the worst team in the next Division and Cup. So, while winning the first three matches is non-negotiable, the more we win the better.
As per the matching process, 6th in Group A is seeded number 41 out of 48 overall and in the Newcomers Cup we are seeded 9th out of 16. Based on the results we have thus far, this is how I see our roadmap for Leg 1 playoffs, assuming we win consistently:
Match 1: A2K. Match 2: Either AoA or ESWAT – most likely ESWAT. Match 3: is hard to say – complete unknowns which should make for an easy Top 8 qualification. If we win all these games, we will be seeded into the Second Division and the “Novice Cup”.
If possible, we should try play A2K and ESWAT on Tehran Highway, Damavand Peak or Noshahr Canals. I think they’re both good teams on the urban maps and will struggle with adapting to all out vehicle based play. As for the unknowns, we play our strongest maps.
It’s hard to say who we will face in the Novice Cup now, so I’m not going to speculate. However, if we apply the same winning procedure there, we will be seeded into the First Division, the “Champions Cup” for the Leg 3 playoff. From here, it’s what we make it.
No doubt qualifying for First Division is an achievement, but we should figure out where we want to take the clan from there. If we want to go up yet another gear, we will have to recruit strategically to maintain a second team and maintain the fight for top spots.
As for right now, enjoy the week off.
We still desperately need consistent players, U2Mxhas offers his services but I want to see what we can come up with as a team. If there are no ideas soon I want to recruit at least two guys, just to field a 12 man team (with Mark). Otherwise 3 new guys.
If you know of someone who can play BF every Tues, Wed and Sun night 8PM to 9:30PM and at least one other night for public play, post their names here lets talk about it. Applications for the Baggers will open in a few days.
