DGL Match 4 -- ELIMINATION (ARΣS -=EnM Squad=-)

ARES have requested elimination for the match, so we won't be able to plan extensively. They have offered the match to be on Wednesday and then to do a friendly on Sunday. We decided to do Noshahr Canals and Tehran Highway for the practice game, gives both clans some more prac on those awkward maps. If you have some ideas or are not available, post like a boss! I'll update this thread as more info becomes available.

They want to do map elimination on the day not before.

I would reject the request.

Yup its a 1v1 knife fight to determine who goes first on elimination of maps and then another 1v1 to determine which side. Can't say I'm excited about it.

So we say in turns the maps we don't want to play until there is one left, we play that. We need to pick a knife champion! Gladius!

In that case, we should be looking to take them by surprise, and be ready to eliminate the more popular maps I.e. the urban ones.

^ ^ +1 "Configuration of terrain is an aid to the army. Analysing the enemy, taking control of victory, estimating ravines and defiles, the distant and near, is the Toa of the superior general. One who knows these and employs them in combat will certainly be victorious. One who does not know these or employ them in combat will certainly be defeated" - Sun Tzu - Art of War

I know where this argument is coming from, but I really don't think we have an "advantage" playing on these maps. Maybe if someone can clear that up for me?

We haven't had more experience than other clans on them, although there may be some merit playing a map both teams are not totally clued up on. Also, we're not a massive armour clan and if I understand correctly that's the premise for selecting these maps. Noshahr only has double armour on the RU side - so what about US?

In my opinion, Noshahr Canals are not worth playing unless you have at least one scout helicopter pilot with the highest unlocks. Only then does it become a viable anti-armour vehicle. Also, if you go up against another scout helo with the highest perks while you're only packing heat seakers, they'll beat you 9/10.

So Tehran Highway is the other option, but it's pretty clear not many guys enjoy this map. One heavy tank and one LAV. With at least two guys in the heavy and three in the LAV (assuming we use the heavy as an artillery option and the LAV as a mover and shaker), we only have three troops on the ground. An option, but an untested one.

If there are other parameters to be considered, please, put them on the table so we can settle this.
