DryMan

Post by DryMan »

Hi...

My name is DryMan, and I used to be a gaming addict.
It all started as a kid with the release of BF2 and CoD2.
Not long after starting my online campaign, I was invited to join the clan called Borg, whos main purpose was to help facilitate my addiction.
What followed was 2 of the darkest years of my life, with endless nights, no sleep, falling grades, and above all no social life. I had become a true addict. I could not go a day without playing.
But then, when I thought there was no hope left, I was saved by my father who took a job in Singapore.

There I started a new life, made friends, became cool, saw the world, and got an Asian girlfriend.
But, of course all dreams come to an end. So after 3 years I found myself at the end of high school, having to choose the next step in my life.
So I decided to move back here, and continue studying.
But with that came all the memories and urges to start playing again. There was a problem though, the community had grown ten-fold. I was lost on the ocean, without a paddle. My previous clan was all but disbanded. So for the last 2 years I've been drifting from one game to the other, unable to find what I had lost.

There is hope on the horizon though... BattleField 3.
But I also see a relapse coming.

So I come to you Clan GRRR, to ask your help in controlling my addiction.

Hi Dryman

what where/was your nicks in Bf2?
How old are you?
I know this might sound a little elitist, but we are a VERY tight group of guys and girls and we dont let just anyone in. we may even expect you to wait until bf3 is out and you have played and squadded with us for a week or so before we make a dicision.

Oh no, that's quite understandable. That's one of my main reasons why I'm coming to you. I was quite intimidated reading through TygerBS and Duiwels' thread, but I really respect the process. And that's what I'm really looking for, an online family. Gaming just becomes so much better when you know the people you are playing with.

I'm 20 atm.
My nick has always been DryMan, but I was more of a CoD2 player.

I do know NoMad personally, we used to live a couple of bocks from each other. I kinda used to stalk him as a kid. I used to think he was the coolest. Not so much any more, but I still respect him :P

I just thought I'd put my post up a bit early so you guys could start getting to know me. :)

nice andrew! :) I am even cooler now, with a touch of loco and a pinch of crazy!

good on you for starting the process, as fly said we are a tight nit group, so it will be a much longer process compared to other clans. stick in there, show dedication on the field of battle and you will find we are a bunch of awesome people who really like gaming and talking shit!

Welcome Dude. Will be looking out for you in BF3 fo sho, squad up with us whenever possible and dish out a few tea-bags when you find yourself on the other side. As has been said, your membership may take a few weeks as you are new to most of the clan but stick around and have some fun in the meantime.

Yeah, weird as it sounds - our application is a grueling two week process normally.

It certainly helps to have people you know on the inside, GRRR squad, being akin to the likes of the KGB you will need to answer some serious psychological tests via online questions. These questions may seem random, but are in truth designed to understand many things including what colour underwear you wore the night of your first live nipple sighting.

Hang in there, don't be disheartened if you can make it through the Guantlet, you may stand a chance.

now, heres the first questioned designed to understand the relationship between you and your grade 8 maths teaher in order to better clarify your strategic movement through a chokepoint that is easily covered by snipers:

1. I wish to live in a perfect word where a chicken can cross a road without it's motives being called into quesiton
> Strongly Agree
> Agree, KFC Rounder
> 17
> The matchbox is behind the cupboard
> Strongly Disagree

2. Boobs.
> Sorry, whats the question?
> I need a paper towel
> Big small, I like em all
> Moobs

3. A train is travelling at 35Km/h east and crosses a road after 60Kms, another train is travelling at 60Km/h and crosses the same road after 12Kms. How much cheese is too much on a cheese snackwich?
(your answer must be between 12 and 30 words)

I was sexually abused by my grade 8 maths teacher, but I will try my best to answer.

1. I would have to strongly disagree.
In the perfect world we would all be on equal footing of one another, animals alike. So the only way to differentiate us would be to question motives.

2. Sorry, what?
I can't hear you, I've got bananas in my ears.

3. Given that their combined speed is 95km/h, and total distance being 72km. Then dividing the differential by my concern for gaining weight (1.65) I end up with, 4 slices of cheese.

Hey dude

As a couple of guys have already said, it would be best for you to hang out on the forums and get squadding with BF3. Yeah these questions will also let us know more about you but the key is hanging around so each person can make up their mind.

So relax, be yourself and lets see how things go.

Oh and personally know NoMaD is a -1
