Clan Gathering / Watering

Post by Hubris »

Hey Guys,

I'm really keen to meet the other Grrrs and I think it would be a great idea for those behind the boerewors curtain to unite! I know we're geeky types and gaming is a much preferred manifestation of social interaction, but you might just enjoy it :p sycho:

Some of you might be thinking, "eish but I'm not so young any more" or "I'm working", fear not! No school nights or late night escapades are not on the cards. I think a get together in the form of a braai or couple drinks watching footie/rugby would be awesome and relatively light damage. Please bring your significant other if you so choose, so us single folk can feel like the losers we are.

I thought the 20th would be a good date, since the Bokke are taking on Scotland in Murrayfield - otherwise maybe early December? I'm happy to arrange and coordinate the get together. I'm running a poll which could help gather stats on how many Grrrs are in each region - please have a go and encourage others to do so as well.

If you are keen, please indicate where about you live and whether you prefer a pub/restaurant/braai.If you are keen but can't make it, please suggest another date. I suppose we could also put those medical aid budgets to use and do something a little more risky.

I wonder if we can get a list of who lives where (maybe it already exists?), thinking... thinking... thinking... :hmmm:

I've got family over this period (Nov to near end of Dec) else I could have driven up to do some work or something then driven down... but alas...

I will not be able to make the 20th, sorry guys already have another commitment. I am however planning a mega-lan come the 11th and 12th of December at my place. Will still need to post more details as time goes on.

Denis neglects to mention that he's in Cape Town, so wouldn't likely make a gathering in JHB anyway...

Not a chance can I do a braai this weekend. We've bearely landed in the house, amd this weekend wil be much required in order to get finished with the unpacking.

I'm thinking the 27th or the 4th will be doable. Hope that fits your hectic schedule, Geth?

BTW, if anyone fancies popping by the new place to say "hi" and entertain the kids for an hour or two, you are welcome to come round anytime...

Well I'm on leave with Jeremy from 15th December for 10 days... So any time would be cool! I think it's about bloody time the Grrrbians hold a shindigg!

We could look at holding a braai at my place if you all keen? I have a small place but it can house about +/- 10 to 15 ppl if chairs are brought along and if no body minds eating off their laps....

Let me know and I'll speak to the lady of the house...
