GRRR Momma!

Sooooooooo! Here we are again. Another outstanding rAge has come and gone - facilitating the annual change in leadership.

In your infinite wisdom, you have chosen a female to lead the clan so things can actually get done properly now! :D

All jokes aside, I'm truly honored to have been elected and thank you for the support. :thanks: I was hoping the job came with a hand-me-down copy of 'How to Lead a Gaming Clan" guideline, but to my dismay it did not. Nevertheless, I foresee a grrreat year ahead of us.

It is quite a daunting task to take the reigns after the LEG-ENDS that have led the clan before. (Special shout out to Geth, Jono, Lee and Jarrod - *Wi-Five* dudes!) I have wondered how I am going to maintain and build on the foul-mouthed debauchery excellence that is [grrr].

To start, I've spoken to Daz today and he's agreed to stay on as our *insert game name* Captain. With this position he will also 'enjoy' having Admin rights. At this point, I am assuming we will be sticking with BC2 until such a time arises that another gaming option becomes available. I did not test the MoH beta myself, but from the few responses I've seen from our members it does not seem to be a game we will participate in. I know Murgs even cancelled his pre-order after testing out the Beta. In all honesty, if it is more a CoD-type game I cannot see the majority of our members being interested enough to play it casually - nevermind competitively. As I stated in the shout box previously, we will also need to see where the community goes. No community interest = no competitive leagues.

Another Admin I'd like to have stay on is Onyx (us girls gotta stick together ya know ;) ) I value her opinion and think she's a great person for the job. So, Onyx, please confirm if you would like to stay on as Admin.

Considering our 4-fathers will continue to have Admin rights (plus myself, Daz and Onyx?), I believe we'd then have enough Admins to cover all areas. However, if someone disagrees, please let me know and we can discuss it as a clan.

Lastly, I'd like to reiterate just how much this clan means to me and how I truly do feel we are one big, extended family. I will always have [grrr]'s best intentions in the forefront of my heart & mind. I know if we continue to work together and all our members get involved that we can only go from strength to strength. I love you okes and will do my bestest to make y'all proud.

P.S. I watched some of the footage from rAge this year and WOW! We really are some fun-loving, crazy mo-fo's! YOU ALL ROCK! :wooty:

Sheri, I'd just like to wish you all of the best for the coming year. Keeping this bunch of fun-loving, crazy mo-fo's in line can be tough to do, but I know that you're the person for the job.

Thanks to Dazzie again for taking on team captaincy reponsibilites, you did a great job of turning our team around in tha latter stages of the league, so I'm sure you'll keep us all on our toes next year.

As for Odi, well, where would we be without her? Nursey must have admin rights.

Everything of the very best to you, Sheri for what lies ahead this year as our clan leader. I am sure that you will do a stellar job of managing these 'interesting and very special' gents. I am quite excited for your sake.

So therefore.....

I, Onyx/Onny/Odi/Naugthy Nursey/Onnylicious, hereby confirm that it will be a grrreat honour to be remain an admin. Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

Just let me know what you need me to do.

All hail, Maggie Thatcher!

As for games, I say we stick with BC2 in terms of FPS (as long as there's a league next year). We really started to gel towards the end of last season, and I think we'd benefit more from developing our squadplay in a game we already know than trying out a game or several games that never really take off. That, and I think we should give MP Star Craft 2 a go online as a clan. From all reports the game is truly epic and therefore worthy of clan investigation.

Bring on the 2010/2011 season of grrreatness, Maggie.

Hooah Sheri!

Definitely the right person for the job to be honest. Wimmin tend to have these things under-control (especially when these things are a group of hooligans).
All the best for your term and i look forward to seeing [grrr] go from strength to strength.

In terms of game to play, I see that our good ol faithful BC2 still has its place in [grrr]. That being said, I am going to (as always) be the spanner in the works, the cat amongst the pigeons, the stick in the mud (etc etc).

I am super f*cking keen on Black Ops...

I know there may not be a clan-wide loving for it as it is, after-all, a COD game. But that being said, even if I play the game casually and muck about on public servers, so be it. I need muh fix. Of course, should the clan decide to give it horns, I am there.

With the introduction of MOH and possibly (local server reliant) Black Ops, I foresee a slight decline in BC2 overall... Just my 2c though. Lets see how it all pans out.

The reason I stated a "CoD-type" game would prolly fail with us is because of past experience with trying to get CODWAW and COD4 going. (Was CoD captain both times and unceremoniously got burned both times.) That being said, BF2 coincided with these attempts and of course the 'first love' of grrr was/is always BF2. With BF2 out of the picture and with BC2 not holding up to expectations, perhaps we have a chance to properly branch out into another game.

IMHO, we as a clan showed some serious UT skilz this past weekend. (Granted - we only played internally. But hell, Phats is one twitchy dude with epic skilz. Also, Rainy thought he'd be 'Ultimate UT winner'. [No offense to Alex, just stating it cause he seemed to know the caliber of the game required and if that is true we rocked it!] So it seems we, as a clan, have some serious FPS ability.) If we can pwn in UT, we can definitely kick ass in a game such as Black Ops. Besides having the required FPS reflexes needed in UT, we have the benefit of strat based games from the BF series.

From past experience, I expect the community to stick to BC2 (or maybe BC2 Vietnam) as the competitive gaming platform for the upcoming year. However, I'd like to request that our members keep an open mind to our future gaming opportunities.

Sorry to tell you, but from everything I've read, I don't think we getting any servers in za.

This is the thing murgs, we've heard sources (read: Mr COD of South Africa and Megarom) saying or hinting otherwise. I will remain hopeful till they officially announce anything :)
