Laguna Alta - Key Area Identification

Post by SlipperyDuck »

Tonight I'm going to login to the GRRR server and move around the map.
It would be useful if someone else was online so that we could look for "Blind Spots" and Covered area's of movement for the Conquest Map.

I'll jump on after I've helped with dinner, although I am familiar with this map. only two points we need worry about holding are B & C in my opinion both have relative high ground advantage.

Its a tricky map to get pinned down in.

I should be around, sms me or yell at me in TS.

PS I have some ideas for a strong opening.
1 x quad takes off. 1 dude spawn on back and jumps off at A, quad continues, 2nd dude spawns and drops mines behind quad. Will slow their armour but needs to be tested.
2nd quad goes for B/C . Would be good to see where the armour gets to vs the quad.

I played for a couple hours on this map last night. Sneaky tip of the day...

There are 2 entries to the bases that are easy ways to steal armour:
From B, run along the North edge of the 'dead zone'. It's high up and out of sight. You end up dropping in just behind their armour spawn.

From A, you run south along the West edge. Its also high up.

Its pretty hard to spot someone sneaking in along those lines without making an effort to look up.

Fuck I keep posting strats in the communal BC2 boards, we got a security leak here people!

Nice Grav. In Public games I have played, C seems to be key as its the high ground but geting their armour + all flags means rapeage + first prize.
We need good armour support though and sharp eyes for mines.

Holding B and C is the key to this map then pain can be rained down on A from C as well as B, high ground in this game is a huge factor.

Quickest way to get C from the US side is going via a Buggy, but the Russians could arrive quickly so I'd suggest getting 1 or 2 people into defensive positions as illustrated:

Something that I've found out but needs some extra testing:
Mines DO blow up when shot. When they blow up, it looks like they do more damage than a C4!!!
Maybe, planting mines and then shooting them will be better than c4's.
