As mentioned in the mails, it seems likely that we're going to be involved in Blogging at some point.

Anyone here running a blog? What is a blog?

Hopefully I can answer a little for you as I learn...

Google runs a free "blogger" service. You can enable it through your gmail login. But before you log in, make sure you have a gmail account...
If you don't have a gmail account, sign up for one here: https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount

Blogger...
Create your FREE blog at https://www.blogger.com/start

Run through the steps shown in their 'wizard' (3 steps! lol)

In about 10 minutes, I created this (going to use this for testing stuff out):

This is a more serious blog... I'll keep this one updated!

thanks grav, thats pretty cool

BUT - and i dont want to put a damper on any enthusiasm, when we move over to DL, will they be able to migrate what we blogged already to their site with ease, would you want to have two blogging accounts? is it even an issue?

Mmmm true although i dont think that it is a waste. I would be keen to learn how to modify the blog area and customise it to suit my preferences and write down all teh weird shit that is in my head. I was looking at a few that are out there and some are very cool. Nice graphics, colors etc. I had no idea about blogging and it is so much fun... i have read a few interesting and crazy blogs that are out there... one about a guy who has been goldfish fishing in his neighbours pond for the last few years...

I don't think there'd be any harm in 2 blogs. Just a lot more work!

I'm quite happy to close my current 'old' blog as soon as we move across (which may only be in a few months?). By then, I hope to have learned enough of what is possible so I can spend more time learning other stuff and blogging, less time learning to blog.

but, part of my point is why close it when you can migrate it, especially if you have peeps already "subscribed"
AND, we could also find out how to get onto the DL blog anyway, if you want.

SO - whatever you do, dont let me get in the way of your creativity, and to be"up and running" for when DL is ready for us is a good point

Blogging at DL seems to be rather easy. Its almost like a forum where you just post your comment and give it a header. Other people just scribble a little post at the bottom and its done.

Still trying to work out how the points system works and what you get points for.
