DL Committee

Question: Do we need a DL committee in grrr if this comes to fruition?

So far the admins, more specially Jarrod and Mike (the new guy) have run with this and put in all the work but going forward I think we may need a committee (although that might sound to formal), this may or may not include clan admins. The reason I say this is that this venture is going to take a lot of effort, we will all need to participate but we will need a person or rather people to steer and monitor all the activities.

I don’t think Jarrod will have the time to run both the clan and the sponsorship and I don’t think it would be fair ask him to do it all alone anyway. We need people who will make sure that we have regular reviews, blogs etc Get people organised when lan’s or other events come up. Deal with DL when any suggestions or problems arise.

I know everyone is keen as beans but unless you have a captain to steer the ship, the sailors are going to fall overboard. So some basic questions to ask are

• Do we need a committee
• Who will sit on the committee and who will head it?
• What will their responsibilities be?
• What will their authority be?

Once again I don’t want to make this to formal because that is not us but we do need some structure and organisation in order to maximise the full potential of the sponsorship

i think this is a good idea, even if it is only semi formal.
my reasoning is that i work best under pressure with deadlines and accountability.

how we choose the comittee is gonna be interesting

I'm going to say this only once and hopefully never mention this EVA again.

Paul is probably right about having a committee.

Ok I said it! I think that we should drive this and there should be certain key individuals that maintain a sense of ownership on certain aspects and area's.

As i said in the other thread - I can help out wherever needed, but time constraints during summer will be pretty incapacitating (that means I won't have time to do stuff, Paul). In winter, I will be able to contribute significantly more than I could for the next couple of months.

I am not talking about contributors i.e. the trench diggers! I am talking about the white dude who stands above them and tunes them where to dig.

Although the tuner can also be a digger :)

We would only know for definite what's what when the final deal has been laid out on the table between us and DL and then take it from there? We will see what is required from us and then have a look at who we have in the clan that possesses those qualities best suited to the job (or something to that effect).

Sometimes somebody else may see something in us we didn't realise we had to do a particular job, so we could throw some ideas around.

I like the idea of a committee, but agree with Odi when she says we should wait until we know the exact offer before deciding on a committee.

This is sounding more and more 'corporate'. :hmmm:

perhaps the way to look at it is a core group of guys/girls that do the most commitment to actually providing content, and there would need to be someone as a primary contact person, who would also parhaps make his/her 'committee" accountable for said content
