This is very pre-emptive but I am sitting at the airport with nuttin much else to do.

Starcraft 2 is due out later this year and assuming BC2 doesn't take all our time, I believe that thrashing my clan mates at a new strategy title would bring a contemptive grin to my face. So, after about 6 tequila's and 5 seconds of serious thought I came up with the idea of starting a [grrr] league for the game. I bounced a few ideas off Grav and came up with the following gem:

One league table.
Each player can count the results of up to 2 games each month.
Beating a higher ranked opponent brings more points.
A title + invisible prize after a year or so.
Assuming it got off the ground I would gladly take on league admin duties.
We can open up the league to Jules and anyone else appropriate.

I created this post to plant the seed of thought in your dull, lifeless minds rather than to get too deep into league structure and rules.
So please, think about it. Drink some tequila first if you like, it worked for me.
For now, lets see who's interested.

I've neva played Starcraft! So, I wouldn't be much competition.

I'm a bit useless with RTS games, so I'll pass on this too!!

However, why wait for Starcraft? Why not test the ranking system out now with another game? Dawn of War 2 or Company of Heroes perhaps?

I have both, so I'd be willing to try being a sacrificial victim if you like...

Haven't play Starcraft, nevermind an RTS, in like yonks and a bit difficult to commit to anything now. But will keep this in mind, for sho.

Been about a squillion years since I played any RTS, but I'm happy to get thrashed by my clan mates if it means plumping up the league numbers. Also, if Mikey is playing then at least I won't finish last.*


* For those that missed it, that was the start of the Starcraft 2 Vapour League smacktalk right there, subtle and laced with truth though it may have been.

@ Shadey - We will all be starting out at the same time and I have witnessed your RTS abilities with my own 2 (teqila-enhanced) peepers so come join the fun.
@ Drag - I'd rather we all started on a new title at the same time, it levels the playing field a bit and means we dont have to haggle over which of the older RTS's to mutually buy/patch/buy expansions/get good at etc. Nothing stopping you from playing a few games with anyone in the meantime but I am keen to jump in on S2.
@ Onny - Keeping it in mind is almost as good as signing up. Don't make me slightly disappointed!
@ Jonny- In a match between you and Mikey, my money's on him.

@ EVERYONE ELSE STALLING FROM SIGNING UP - you know you want to! There will be a range of skill and a break from FPS on offer. Don't delay cos as the unofficial vapour league admin I am restricting the league to the first 250 that sign up.

long gone are the days of playing StarCraft and drinking vodka and red bull till the son rose the next day.
