Good day Lads and Ladies,

This is an exciting post, not only because I have been nominated the new team captain but the road ahead is full of new and exciting games.
As captain of this great clan, I need to know your views on what games you would like to play for this year ahead.

I personally will play anything with you guys and put my best foot forward and I hope you will too.

I have set up a list of the next game titles for us to invade:

Battlefield 4: - We already have an abundance of players, the only issue. People want to take this seriously and get to rage next year. Disadvantages: we need dedicated set players in order to achieve this this goal. We need to play friendlies against other teams. We need to have practices which involve strategies. We will have to work hard to get out of the OPEN league and into the premier.

COD AW: - New game for the year and a definite comp game at rage. I for one thoroughly enjoy the game. It is fast paced and extremely fun. Disadvantages: NO FUCKING dedicated servers. I personally think if they bring servers out it will be an amazing game until then we stuck in a no go area.
Heroes of the storm: - Blizzards new MOBA, coming out next year. Johnny and I got ALPHA invites and it looks promising, really promising. However I don’t know your peoples feel on MOBA’s and what will come from it. But we know the support from Blizzard will be huge and competitions will be massive with the chance of going overseas. Disadvantages: Clans view on MOBA’s and commited play time of 5 people.

Over Watch: - Blizzards new FPS, a lot like Team fortress 2. This game looks amazing and I am going to give it a try on release. YOUTUBE it and tell me what you think. Disadvantage: nothing said about local dedicated servers…so we will see.

DOTA 2: - DISADVANTAGE CLAN DESTROYER!!!!!! Prizes are amazing though...

CS :GO: - OLD game, Competitive as ever. However putting a team together for this would be terrible for our self-esteem. Reason is other clans have 16 years advantage over us. We would be starting from scratch and in order to get noticed we would have to play this for a couple years to get that good.

BF Hardline: - I do not even know what is going on with this cops and robbers game. Any input?

BF 3: - OLD and personally I feel that it is not going to get far. People are just hyping over it because Battlefield 4 is terrible.

World of Warcraft: - QB can quote on this.

But Guys/Gals, I really want your honest opinion. I have given you mine.

Please respect this forum as this is deciding what you guys what to do as a team next year.

Great post and there are some potentially exciting games coming out soon.
I would really hope that we have enough peeps motivated to jump onto the BF4 team again. I think we did really well last season, started to build and can give most teams a run for their money.
The other games will be a case of wait and see. Dedicated servers and clan interest being the deciders. As Phats will attest, it can be hard garnering interest in games that don't fall off the BF family tree.
I don't feel hyped about BF: Hardline.
COD AW might be a fun filler but competitively... awaiting servers.
This is definitely a year to try something new.

I am up for bf3/4 anytime next year. Would love to get back into rage with this. Would also love to assist the team and captain where possible with this if a space like this opens up....

tbh, I would like to play some sort of rts like coh2 that I have been playing lately also. but will see what is available next year.

Personally I dont really have a interest moving away from the BF family of games for FPS

Edit: I see that I still have the vc award, which I should not have anymore.... Would love to work for it again though

I don't see myself playing any game competitively in the next year, I don't have the time (or inclination) to focus that heavily on a single game. As such, I don't have any say in what we play, but I do have a couple of comments:

- CODAW is fun to play on pubs, but you'd want to see what the community chooses as a competitive ruleset. There is every possibility that they go for the old classic S&D, and disable the Exo, the very thing that makes the game fun.
- Evolve looks like a great game, dunno if the 5v1 style lends itself to comp play, but it could do, and that would be pretty awesome. We'll have to wait and see on that one though, game is out in Feb iirc.
- Overwatch looks amazeballs, with that patented Blizz style and cool. However, it's just been announced, and I'm sure won't be around to compete in next year. One to watch for the future though, I'd love a competitive shooter that pulls away from the modern warfare theme.

good luck to the team with whatever game you choose.

Back online!!

Competitively, I would say it would boil down to BF4 and CODAW.

I hate to admit it but I am also getting old, the only game I can see myself playing competitively would be BF4 or with a push BF3. It was be strictly as player filler and I would encourage younger and better players to be picked ahead of me.

I was looking forward to Starwars Battlefront but that has been delayed and I don't know if it will be played competitively.

Competitively?
Lets be honest, BF4 seems to be the denominator at the moment. I can't say I am surprised.

BF:H : delayed till later in 2015 which means DGC would've started already which means I doubt it'll be a title.
BF3 : while people are praying it returns, this would be a step backwards. Rose tinted glass because BF4 is BF4.
CODAW : just as frustrating as it is fun right now. Avoid till dedicated servers happen. I must be honest, there seems to be VERY few players in SA playing this...
HoTS : won't be a competitive title in DGC as long as LoL and Dota2 are around.
CSGO : lots of fun and a few guys getting stuck in however we are 15 years behind.

Non-competitively?
Will continue to play all the games except I won't be trying to sell them to anyone this time around. I'll just find other SA gamers to jam with.

Shoutcasting?
GQ. TBC.

There is only a limited amount of young people in this clan that play Competitively

I would be super keen to play Overwatch if it comes out, game looks amazing and like a ton of fun and just the right amount of casual.

As for BF4, I would be willing to warm the bench and stand-in whenever you guys need me.(if time permits, depends on what life looks like next year)

If we decide to go the CS:GO route or enter a team, I'd be pretty serious about competing. (once again, if life permits)

Just a thought: If enough players are keen and left over after the BF4 team has been chosen, perhaps we can still consider a CS:GO team? Even if it's casual, playing DGL gives you a huge rush.

Also I'm sure if we sort out teamwork and nade strats we would do okay.

Ion, let me know what RTS you'll be getting into, I'm quite keen to play one again.

Ok games

Battlefield 4: - A def option. There will more than likely be two modes supported by DGL next year. 5 v 5 domination, and 8 v 8 conquest. It remains to be seen if either will be DGC titles at rage next year. That will probably depend on the interest the game still has.
If we want to play this and take it seriously to get into prem its gonna require a lot more work and commitment that what we had last year. 2 - 3 pracs a week, strats.
Team will need 10 dedicated guys that come to 99% of pracs and games. I would love to see this happen, but to be honest just don't see it. Our young good players just don't have the commitment to see it through. Perhaps you can get them to do it. I will play if needed.

COD AW: -
remains to be seen if it can be competitive and if it will be a DGL game next year.

Over Watch: -
I seriously doubt that there will be DGL league for this next year.

DOTA 2: -
Serious amount a work to become even vaguely competitive... do we even have enough dota players?

CS :GO: -
Also a lot of work to be competitive, but guys seem interested and could be fun. Not a bad option.

BF Hardline: -
released only next year. Wont be dgl title.

BF 3: -
Wont be a DGl title.

World of Warcraft: -
Um.... if oks wanna play... cool, don't see how this can be a competitive title.

As for recruitment..
We are a social clan, so it does make it difficult to get a proper competitive team together.
The feeling is we don't want to just recruit guys because they good, they need to fit the grrr mold too.
If we can find guys that fit both requirement sure then do it.
Otherwise we would have to do a vote from the whole clan as to recruiting just competitive players.

I think do a thread for BF4 and CS and see what numbers are interested, then we can take it from there.

Also remember we have a lot of time.
DGL wont announce games till mid Jan, sign ups are for a month or so, so teams only really need to be together by mid feb.
