Please forgive noob editing, its about as bad as this douches skills without the aimbot, i wanted to get some footage up to start the discussion.

http://youtu.be/PZdQMuEMVcM

All critique is welcome i want to make sure he gets banned, i do have more available if you think it should be longer.

I have not reported this really obvious cheat as yet because i wanted to get everyone's opinion on how to go about this going forward. On the one hand EA/Dice needs to see the video in order to ban his ass on the other i wish to mock him into oblivion once i have slightly better editing skills. 2 Videos in the future?

I think the clan has to act as a filter before any hackusations are made in more subtle cases where macros etc are being used.

First step is for us to all agree he is hacking, it seems pretty obvious to me. The least we can do is ban him from our server. Then Kalgat can submit him to EA and lastly if this is a DGL player then it needs to be brought to the DGL's attention so that he can't compete

ok, on a slightly more "serious" note... this is what I think will make it even a better video (just don't ask me HOW to do it, we have more than enough capable video editors here that I am sure can assist you!)

1. Have a scene whereby he actually kills you (or other players) from the strangest positions. I.e. you show the victims first. This is especially helpful if the victims are getting shot headshot, from no-where.
2. Show a couple of these miraculous kills from the victim's point of view... each time with some big questions of, "where the phuck did that came from" "ah, this guy is shooting me from nowhere", "this guy is ruining my game for me!". Finish the scene with the scoreboard highlighting his KD.
3. Then you put in big, "so, let's see how Mr Noob is doing this".... and then only do you jump into his first person perspective.
4. Most of us immediately recognised the tell tail signs of an aimbot. But there will be a lot of other people not knowing what they are looking at either, so perhaps some slow-mo shots of the gun jerking around, replaying how he aimed at the sniper on the roof and then suddenly aiming at the chopper, show that a couple of times in slow-mo with some very cool explanation of what is happening. This is also the place to really mock the bee-jesus out of this guy.
5. I think we need to have a "slogan" or something at the end of of the video, don't know if you ever watched Penn & Teller's Bullshit series. But they would basically debunk crap with a simple exclamation of "Aah, that's just Bullshit!" at the end and finish the discussion there and then. We could have something similar catchy and powerful which we attach to all hackers and cheaters at the end of each video. (I can guarantee you there will be a lot more in the future). I have no idea what that saying can be, perhaps something along the lines of : "And another loser has just been pooooooned by grrrr-police!"
6. Make sure that the hackers name is very clear, so that even his friends can recognise him and mock the crap out of him. From the video now, it is very difficult to see that his name is "where is no1" for instance. This is very important as we had an HF player (when I was in HF) that was caught hacking and he was so humilated by it it was actually funny. But ensure that everybody knows who this clown is.
7. When the video is done, I think we really need to get it viral, DGL forums, EA, youtube everywhere. I do however think there are two things that is important, 1. demonstrate that we don't tolerate hackers and cheaters at all, and 2. "educate" the public on what a hacker looks like and how to spot one. If there are more people aware of this, then hopefully they will also start frowning on their friends. (oh, and obviously getting his account / game banned. I actually think EA can remove access to his game completely without recompensation of it)

Eggy, do you perhaps have that video you've showed us at the one lan party about that one clown from HF that was jumping into buildings, I kinda liked that one.

Maybe Lee could include some of this in Code4TV? Or is that too much of a negative to have in the show?

I actually see it as a positive Jarrod, "And next ladies and gentleman, the community unites against the low live scum of people that is ruining a perfectly good game by cheating. This video, submitted by an anymous player, which has since gone viral, just shows how the community is now sick and tired of these people. We encourage all people that expect somebody is hacking, to log into the server as a spectator, hit record, and submit your videos... let's all unite against this together..." RA RA RA... type speach...

I would also like to see hackers included in the TV spot. :)

My 2c on the issue. I think we should be careful about nominating ourselves as community policemen. While it's a noble cause, it isn't really our battle to fight alone and there is lots of room to bring the clan into disrepute - especially when it relates to competitive play. What if we start accusing people who arn't hackers and who is going to take shifts to spectate games? It's fun and exciting to burn the witch, but I feel it takes us into troubled water. Let the official channels deal with hackers.

Lets face it, hacking is a real problem - however, it is much less of a problem than it has been in the past and in most cases it's mostly a convenient excuse for shitty netcode and poor play. I'm not denying that the snapping in the video is dodgy, but what I'm trying to get across is that this guy is probably only 13 or so, sucks with hacks anyway and isn't playing competitively. Do we really need to make a whole song and dance about him? Just report his ass and move on.

I dunno, you guys must do what you want but when it starts spilling over to accusing guys left right and centre publicly especially in other clans its not good for grrr. I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of spotlight video on how hacking is done and how it affects the community, to raise awareness and educate people on how to recognise and deal with hacking. Using this sort of footage for something like that I think is much more constructive and will be welcomed by all.

My issue with hacking is that a BF game is never complete without hackusations and the community needs to grow out of that. To be honest that annoys me more than the actual hacking - it's much more frequent and often more juvenile. Hacking is a serious issue, but it's not up to us to be judge, jury and executioner. If someone is going to lose access to the DGL or even the game they paid for, that needs to be presided over by the appropriate authorities.

I'm with Hubris on this one.

If we do feature anything to do with hacking - there will be Redaction over the Names and kills - just clips to show what hacking looks like.
