Hey guys,

Wall of text incoming...

So, as a lot of you know, I've been seriously unhappy with my job over the last few years. For almost two years now I've been commuting to JHB on a weekly basis, and it's now reached a point that I'm not able to do it any longer. The strain on my family has reached a point that if I carry on doing this I probably won't have a family much longer.

So, desperate times call for desperate measures. Career prospects for my profession (Consumer Credit Risk) in Cape Town are extremely limited, especially with the skill set that I have, and the level at which I am looking. I am also not interested in moving to Jozi, there is nothing there for Camilla, and I wouldn't want to raise my kids there.

So, I've spoken with a couple of recruitment consultants internationally, and it appears that there is great demand for my skills in Europe. I haven't progressed any opportunities as yet, but the current thinking is that I'll be able to find a position in either the UK, Denmark (Copenhagen), or the Netherlands (Amsterdam).

Based on the above options, we're going to focus on Copenhagen, as it is a very easy commute there from the south of Sweden (35 minutes).

Anyway, nothing has been decided yet, but I just wanted to let you all know that I expect to be gone within the next 4-6 months. Most likely missing rAge this year too

I'll keep y'all posted as things develop. Trust me, we'll be very sad to leave, we love living in Cape Town. But on the bight side, I should be able to earn more in Europe, Broadband id fast and cheap, and if we move to Sweden I'll be able to pop in at DICE and make sure that they don't fuck up BF4

And of course there isn't a hope in hell that I'll be leaving the clan when I go, I'll simply be heading over to set up the European [grrr] office...

You know you will get nothing but support from this clan, everyone here knows RL > gaming and you need to take care of yourself and family first. Good luck with the job hunting, hope you find an awesome job that pays you way too much


On the plus side we now all have a place to stay in Europe if we need to go on vacation.

Suggestion is find a Job in Europe and the try and bribe the your current oks with it to get you better working conditions.

My man, you know what is best for you and your family. Being as family orientated as you are, I know you’ll make the right decision. Chin up and know that things can only get better. Besides, Scandinavians are the happiest people in the world man, there must a be a reason.

Its going to suck not having you in South Africa though. You are truly a gentleman and a scholar and rAge will be missing a key ingredient.

Whatever happens, the wonders of the internet mean you’ll still be around and I am sure you’ll still be here for us as we'll be here for you

It will be sad to have to see you leave SA and not being able to see you at rAge but knowing you will have peace in your heart for doing what is right by you and your beautiful family makes up for the sadness.
