Okay guys, time to pay the piper…

Sorry it’s taken me a while to get around to this, but work has been a real bitch over the last week, so I haven’t had time to sit down and work out the booze bill for rAge. Anyway, I got a bit of a gap this morning, so I spent a little time trying to figure out the fairest way to present the bill…

For reference, the total booze bill for the weekend came to R2794.45. This is what I purchased from the bottle store, and does not include Friday night’s drinks at the Sizzler, or the extra stuff that Miles contributed on Thursday night (beers and a bottle of gin).

Because Miles covered the majority of the drinks on Friday (he paid the tab at Sizzler), and he bought stuff on Thursday, I’ve excluded him from the bill for the rest. I have also excluded Mark and Onny, charging them directly for the bottle of whiskey that they had, and a couple of bottles of mixer.

I have also (for obvious reasons) not apportioned any costs to the guests who attended the braai. So, Flanders may have consumed half of Saturday’s alcohol on his own , but as a guest he gets to do that on us. I’ve also not included Sheri in the bill, as she arrived pretty late on Saturday night, and didn’t have much to drink at all.

I hope that no-one has a problem with these ‘ground rules’?

Okay, for the rest of us, I split into three groups; those who were there on Thursday afternoon, Thursday evening, and Saturday. On Thursday we drank a large portion of the R1900 worth of booze bought, but not all of it (I approximated R1500, leaving the rest for Saturday night). I then divided the total amongst people that were there, with those there in the afternoon and evening paying a double portion, and those there just in the evening paying a single portion. I excluded Denis and Fly from the calc, as neither of them were there very long, and they had very little to drink.

The remainder of the bill I divided evenly between those who were there on Saturday night.

I don’t think that I’ve missed anyone that was there, if I have apologies, please let me know and I’ll add in and recalculate.

As far as payments go, please make your payment into the slush fund ASAP, and I’ll refund myself from there. Please ensure that on your payment reference you include your nick, and the word booze, so that I can identify payments.

Paul, Tyger and Phats, you guys have already paid in significantly more than you owe. It’s up to you if you want to be refunded the difference from your contribution, or if you want to leave it in there to kick start the fund for next year. Let me know what you want me to do with the excesses.

There is no ways I only drank R92 worth of booze over the weekend, if that is true then I am a flippen cheap date.

Grrr can keep the money I deposited because Grrr is a dirty whore!!!
