Ok guys, EA has just responded authorising users to edit and change user config files, so at least we now have clarity that it is accepted in their TOS.
So, who got the best config file?
Heya everyone,
We now have had more time to review this internally and would like to let you know that it is okay to edit this file.
For some of the changes It is probably best to test them via the in-game console first to see their effects.
In general, please note that you are editing at your own risk! Especially after any patch, you may want to revert back to default in case you notice any weirdness.

Ok guys, it appears as if it will only be fair for me to admit mistakenly calling BadAss a cheating hacking bastard.
So, just to set the record straight, BadA$$Jack is not a hacking cheating player so I pull that back. However, I refuse to withdraw the "bastard" part because he keeps knifing me in the back so that still stands...
