Soz for double posting, but here are some essentials for tonight. I will try do a lot of talking tonight so we can go into our next practices without my direct input, for the most part these are just 10 game basics you all need to be aware of.
The event runs from the 5th to the 30th of November - entries close 2nd November (coming Friday).
1. All players must use UAC - get it here: http://uac.ac/#news we will run uac tonight at prac to get everyone comfortable with it.
2. These are not allowed: C4, Claymore, Beacon, G18, All Tube Attachments, Tactical light, IRNV scope, Frag and Slug ammo for shotties.
3. There are 30 tickets for the attacking side; 50 in the knockout stage.
4. Each map is played twice; so you defend twice and attack twice.
5. Maps are assigned randomly before the game in group stages and eliminated as per DGL in knockouts.
6. Squad leader spawn is OFF, you can spawn on anyone at any time.
7. It takes 5sec to plant/diffuse, 45 sec to blow up and 30 sec after the bomb blows up to move up.
8. The map sizes are small, zoom out your minimap by hitting default "n" twice - maximum visibility of minimap spots.
9. We will run a combined practice on Tuesdays; Wednesday is compulsory for the "A" side and optional for the "B" side.
10. Games are on Sundays and arranged by Captains on the forum - you are expected to play, manage by exception please.
Tonight's prac is to talk about strategy and tactics, we will get in some game time but this is preparation for Tuesday when we will conduct "Trials". It's very hard to pick two sides, so I will pick the "A" team and appoint a Captain who will then manage the other team and we will split the reserves to balance. I want the selection to be merit based, but I don't want a situation where we go all out for the top players in grrr - we need to spread some skill across the teams.
The teams for tonight and probably for the trials as well (I have and may still tweak for balance) are below. We will join in one voice channel, set up our squads/kits and talk, then split channels and play. If you want to learn how to shout across channels, just ask. I've suggested roles here, you may choose to change them in game these are just a guideline to get you organised. Please, lets just stay focused for the talk, then we can have a bit of fun - I need your undivided attention!

Team Frank:
- Cronos (Up front)
- Tyger (Backup)
- Badass (Supporter)
- Hubris (SL/SpawnPoint)
Team Beans:
- Nom-flap (Up front)
- Dry (Backup)
- J0nny (Supporter
- Russian (SL/SpawnPoint)
Most of the maps involve Medium to Long range engagements, which requires most kits to use Heavy Barrel no foregrip. There will be value in having cqb capabilities, but players who equip foregrips and/or laser sights should play to their role and avoid long range engagements. Let the medics put down ranged fire while you move and handle the bombsite. So the up front and backup should think about these attachments.
Snipers with rifles (risky) and ARs (better) are a good option on defence for a MAV (its allowed). Support isn't really a great asset in this format without the C4 and Claymore. Furthermore ammo is really not such a big deal when you can pick up kits to keep rolling in what is designed as a quick match, the weapons are really not suited to winning 1v1s and there aren't that many chokepoints to cover.
