I wish I had a clever answer, but I don't .
All I know is that I currently squad lekker with the following players....
* Jono
* Lee
* Paul
* Murgs
* Dazzy
* Shadey
and Mega
( missing from the list is..... Jarrod and Onny ) Sorry
(i'm only talking about when we play on a ground pounding map.)
Now the rest I think we need to play together more as a squad. I want to learn ever players stile. So I can adapt my play to soot the teams playing stile.
My segregation is. We have the Grrr server. Lets set it to ranked and play for an hour or so. Then we move to a public server and test what we have learnt.

I'm at a loss when it comes to ideas about what we are doing wrong. We have been trying to figure out where we are falling down and so far have not succeeded.
This map is a real tough one though. All the flags are in a line, if we move as big squad(s), its not hard for the enemy to see where we are and then bear down on us. Once we have lost two flags or more and are coming from one side of the map which the enemy expects, it somewhat comes down to us having to beat the enemy back so we can take another flag. Even if we run around and make it to another flag, the enemy usually sees us and will bear down on us as we are capping the flag. Once we get wiped out on this map, we are left at a serious disadvantage till we manage to recap at least two flags and hold them, which is real tough, considering we are at a disadvantage.
Looking at our kd ratios compared to theirs and trying to forget about revives, it looks to me like we are just being out gunned in the end. This could be because of our tactics somewhat (i.e. we are all in one building, so are tactically "stuck") but even if thats so, we are still being outgunned on average in part.
So perhaps the comments about us not being a great medic squad group are right, because it seems to me, we are just not up to the caliber of our opponents, when it comes down to a straight on firefight. We can work on our tactics, but if we just arn't as good at killing as the enemy is, we are going to have a really tough time, especially on this map. My question is, for a map like this without armour, is there really a better tactic than most of us being medics? I fear we might do worse without revives.
I think we have to suck it up, and just keep trying to do our best, and if that isn't good enough to win, well then, maybe we are not as good as the other guys. Tactically and/or killing wise.
Anyone else got any ideas? I hope we can figure out a way to leverage our strengths and fix some of our weaknesses.

Murgs there are case where we are simply out gunned and there is nothing we can do about that. If they are better they are better.
But what we can do is control how we react, now we panic and it turns out worse that what it should be

My summary...
HUGE POSITIVE - we had less chatter on TS and very controlled information. I don’t think that i heard anyone saying the usual... "OMG I emptied a whole clip, reloaded and emptied another into him and he has just turned around and head shotted me" – and yes there were several moments when I had the words in my head and had to hold off spilling it into the TS channel.
Very good communication from Jonny, NO really very good communication from Jonny... I tended to ask before every spawn what to do - and received clear instructions. i.e. "hold spawn", "Spawn on A" “don’t change your weapon” etc.
From my perspective of being a medic... I like the medic gun but struggle with the reviving thing. My first round of reviving was fairly bang on Skoup’s weird mathematical alice in wonderlands extrapolation of 3 revives. Then when I consciously tried to revive in the second game my kills dropped radically. Also I am struggling with spawning into a gun fight. I tend to need a few seconds to orientate myself and set up position. I would rather receive intel to hold off and regroup. When I find a good position, my kills increase dramatically compared to when I am constantly spawning into a battle. This means that I also struggle with running with a squad as I tend to be looking for camping spots and then wonder off from the group. For instance, when we were taking “C”, we all moved into the ridge side building above “C” and 5 seconds later, I was the only one in the building – the rest of my team moved onto “B”. I was shooting across the map with some success but could not offer assistance when the rest of my squad encountered the enemy. Some of my best kills come from working my way behind the enemy and catching them when they are focused on a bigger group of enemies.
I am trying to adapt my game style from the sneaky, behind cover, away from the main attack style to a more on the front aggressive style.
So I agree with all your comments, we are coming together with the TS and becoming more disciplined, however, we now need more game time running together as a pack.
Oh – and welcome Phatso – but as to your question of being allowed in… stupid question because we all desperately want you to be part of our BF2 team – see you on the server.

Thanks for the kind words Daz... /blush
I am going to specialize in playing Assault because the medic guns in BC2 never really worked at all for me.
I can also gooi Engi if needs be, I have learnt to love the AT4.
That is, unless you guys desperately need a medic.
(Sorry for derailing a bit here - move my post if you want)

From looking at previous games I can concur with Murgs. When I dabbled in the dark arts (COD), I became aware of just how mediocre my FPS skills were. In fact when I started COD I didn't even make the average. One of the reasons why I enjoyed and stuck with COD is that it challenged me to become better at basic FPS skills. In particular I enjoyed the kill-cam and player observation features of the game that allow you to learn from other players.
BF2 was in many regards a bit of a spray and pray. Bullet deviation, drop, lag and most of all bad hit detection levelled the playing field a lot. Without the kill-cam in BC2 you will not realise the skill of some of the players in this league. I know them from COD because I spent many hours watching how they pwned me in the kill cam. They are that good.
I do not think we need to over-analyse our strats or squad structure. You will probably find that our strats are pretty solid.
What we do need to focus on is improving our individual skills whenever we have the chance and trying to enjoy and learn from each game.
A tip I learnt once from Assassin is that during your 15sec 'time-out' when you have died, think about how you were killed and what, if anything, you could have done to have avoided it. From that I have realised that tunnel vision is one of my worst habits. I see someone I intend to kill and, after missing him on the first attempt, run straight after him ignoring the rest of the battlefield. Its not a 1 vs 1 game so I see my ass real quick.
Anyways, enuff blurb, wish I could play, have fun kids.

I would suggest that for SUNDAY'S MATCH, Ice steps in for me as Medic
I phoned Ice to make sure he's available for tonight, but had to leave a voicemail. I will be around and in TS, but I assume Stu will play in my place. I'm still getting 10sec disco's throughout the evening, so I hope he's available and keen.
