hi Nimbz -

I presume you know what a hairy blender is - please tell you mom or girlfriend and document the response (the first one you see after reading this question - or first woman that crosses your path if nether are available )
what is your position on graffiti art.

Right, moving on...

Graffiti art can be very cool, but it has the potential to become obnoxious. If it's done cleverly I think it's brilliant. If it's purely done to deface an item, it's worthless.

lol. According to Larry Wall, there are three great virtues of a programmer: Laziness, Impatience and Hubris (no, not that Hubris).

Welcome Kev, nice to see the application.

You've been a good friend of the clan for years, and helped us out when we wanted to get a COD team together with some really useful training (not your fault that we were never particularly good at it!!). You have my vote.

You a programmer? Geez dude, why did you not say so, I have a ton of great puzzles designed specifically for programmers and logically minded individuals... but I'll let you have a go at the current ball bearing one first.

Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing...

Okay I concede. I don't see how the heck you guys got to 1.54.

I hit 1.866 before I had taken the 3rd dimension into account, but after that my numbers don't match up.

Working out using the center points as a base and doing triangulation... I make the assumption that if the spheres are perfect that the distance between the centers of two touching spheres will be exactly 2r. I work out the second stack's height to be 1.7071 if you place a sphere on top of a 2x2 square layout of spheres, or 1.75 if you place a sphere on top of a triangle of spheres.

This is dusting out some really old cobwebs. Haven't touched this kind of math in years :|

I'll post my working out if needed.

I bet you can fit a 1000 in there if you grind them up into a powder.

Nimbzy,

So you played COD 4 competitively? If so for which clan?
Favorite band of all time.
Seeing as you read a lot, favorite series of books and author.
Why is whiskey yellow/gold?

PS. Nimbzy should be accepted regardless of how many balls he can fit into a container, as he is the best medic, IN THE WORLD.

Ekks!

I played for a few clans in CoD4. I started off with r0gue until they disbanded. I went on to mentor a 3rd division team who I really enjoyed playing with and eventually coached them to the point where we got to the premier league, then they gave up on CoD after rage 2009. From there on the few of us who still kept going joined iMg and played at MPLD. There was a heck of a lot of clan rotation in CoD since people came and went so frequently. I also had no interest in joining one of the bigshot clans because of the total arrogance some of them showed.

Favourite band: Dream Theater

I don't find time to read fiction. I think the last fictional series I read was Harry Potter when I was still a kid. Most of what I read now is technical and relates to my profession; in which case Bob Martin's Clean Code series is my current favourite.

Whiskey: Food colouring.

And dude, medic whoring on Guilin Peaks ftw! :P
