Yeah, we need a new strat for metro; ours does not work. For all maps, we need more clearly defined positions for each individual player for each individual flag, so when we attack a flag, or as soon as we cap a flag, everybody knows where to go and where to cover. We need to reassess each player's strengths and weaknesses and assign them a role befitting that assessment. For example, last night Tyger said I should be a SL because I naturally play a holding role; I totally agree, it's the role I played in Bf2 and BC2 because I am not an aggressive peeker or shooter. I think having Tyger as SL restricts his natural game which is very aggressive. We need to bear in mind that the person calling the shots in a squad does not necessarily have to be the SL of that squad.
After matches, we need to look at the screenshots, check each player's KDR and team points (remembering to keep things in the context of the particular game that was played) and decide whether the role they played was played properly and/or if the results justify keeping the role the same, changing the role, or changing the player.
We need an external POV. What helped us the most in the league last year was having Snakestyles' feedback after each practice and match. Even if it means one or two of us recording our games and pracs and asking someone from bvd/nsd/asf to review the footage for us and give feedback. We need someone who doesn't care about upsetting people and who can give informed, analytical feedback without causing animosity within the team.
We need to pick 3 or 4 maps and practice the shit out of them for the rest of the league. We don't have time to prepare every map as well as we need to for Premier competition levels. With this in mind, I strongly advise that we drop Metro from our list of choices for matches. We simply do not have the medic zerg rush down as well as the other teams in this league, nor have we refined our strats down to pixel perfect accuracy like they have. For sure, we need to keep practicing Metro because we will no be able to avoid it for the whole comp, BUT, until we have a strat that works in prac against the likes of RFH and SiB at least, we are pretty much throwing a map away against the stronger teams.
What Tyger and Hubris have said is true: to be competitive in the Premier League, we need to take our practices and matches a lot more seriously. If we can't do that, we need to look at a future in the First Division. In all honesty, I don't know if this is the clan to expect Premier League commitment from. If we decide we rather belong in the First Division, we need to accept that as a choice, rather than a failure. Negativity will not only demoralise a team, it will destroy the clan like a cancer. Remember that we have players with families to provide for, jobs to manage, and bills to pay, and that many of the Prem teams are stocked with kids who live at home with their parents and have nothing other than homework to interrupt their BF3 careers.
I want to have a proper think about Metro and then I'll post some new ideas for attacking B; I suggest anyone who has ideas about what to change should do the same.
