Team Captain
Re: Team Captain
This is what I was worried about by getting this all organise before we know the fact. So we are putting this on hold.
This is how we are going to handle this
I will be the stand-in Captain for now, if we get any friendly clannie requests I will post a thread for and we will then treat it on a first come first serve basis.
Once we have an idea of how the formal comps will run we will decide on whether or not to field 1 or 2 teams, from there were will select captains, put rules into place on how people get selected for the teams, how you can move between teams etc.
I know everyone is super keen to get going on BF3 but lets get all the facts before we make decisions

Re: Team Captain
This thread was my idea so let me guide you through my reasoning.
I agree that we cannot form teams until the formats are established. But, saying that, BF3 comes out in 2 weeks and I'd rather we did not waste time whilst other clans get a headstart on clan matches. The only purpose of this thread is to nominate a captain from the people who are committed to playing BF3 and are keen and able to lead our team to total domination. Once those names are put forward, we can dicuss/vote/appoint the most suitable for team captain. I believe those objectives can be met irrespective of what format the BF3 gaming scene takes. I think that is one task we can get out the way now.
IMO, the captain will take on team selection, prac and match scheduling etc, and selecting the captain early gives them time to work on all that.

Some good ideas. I agree with most of what's been said but wrt choosing a first team, would rather have players selected on their availability for regular pracs, ie 2 a week. I am happy to reserve/sub for whatever team. Much of what we need to decide should be tackled by the team captain so I think that appointment/sentence is where we should start.

Re: Team Captain
Ja, I think to save time and voting procedure, Paul should be team captain until further notice.
All in favour say "Aye", all against [S]go fuck yourselves please state your reasons.

Re: Team Captain
I agree completely. It makes sense that Paul is Team Captain until this clan is mentally prepared to discuss/vote someone in.
Why there is an aversion to doing that now is beyond me but I am going to go grab a nice big cup of STFU.

Re: Team Captain
I think Paul's reign can be called the 'Softly Softly' era.

Have to say I share Mega's sentiments

Re: Team Captain
Ok the first friendly is in the works, sign up here

As I said friendlies (these are not pracs) will be on a first come first serve basis. Within 2 or 3 weeks of BF3 starting, even if a formal league hasn't been announced yet, I will have announced the two teams (we will assume it is 8 v 8 for now) so that we can start practising in anticipation for a league.
I will be consulting with everyone who put their name down as available to play BF3 to decide how the teams will be made up. But please if you have problems come to me, do not take the team selection personal and let iron out any concerns if they arise instead of bottling it up.
As I said, the aim for this year is to be competitive amongst the top clans/teams but not at the expense of our identity
