Aren't you an admin?

[S]I have admin rights, but I'm not an active admin, no. I have responded to his query by telling him that someone currently involved in the running of the clan/server hire etc will get back to him. I don't mind posting again or PMing him to say we're still discussing it though. However, I didn't feel sufficiently involved/informed to give an answer straight away.

I'll tell him we're still discussing things.

Thanks Jono. This isn't really simply an admin call, it's one that Sheri needs to take the lead on, IMO.

I'll make contact with SSG first and see how they feel about sharing a server.

Hmm does seem like they are all keen. I think most of them are under the impression that we want a server mainly for open play were as we mainly want it for prac.

On the contrary Paul, the impression I got was that there were more guys against it than for it. I do half half understand what their concerns are. For example, say the costs get split up per player and 1 month, 4 players (3 from SSG and 1 from grrr for arguments sake) don't pay, then what?

Just a suggestion, but lets see what the availability of servers is like @ launch. If there are clan servers going around in the masses, we may not need to procure one.

My 2c:

WrG are a friendly bunch with whom we get on well. They are keen and have approached us with the same idea we were already discussing. Sure, they may not be the stronget opposition for us, but we will def be able to invite stronger clans for prac sessions if need be - we won't be limited to pracs solely with WrG just because we share a server.

From my experience, pracs against SSG are frustrating and disheartening, and do more harm than good for team morale. Why are we so keen to get SSG involved? If it is simply because they will give us better opposition than WrG or BBH, I still don't see it as necessary to share the rental of the server with them specifically. We can always have a prac against SSG/FiB/SiB/BOC/whomever on a server that we share with WrG/BBH/whomever.

I do not see the point in approaching other clans when the WrG are keen. As far as i can tell, the primary reason we are looking to share a server with another clan is to spread the costs, rather than to ensure opfors to prac against. Or am I wrong?

As alwaysSuprisingly, the voice of reason from Jono. WrG are a decent bunch, and would make decent server rental partners.

SSG don't seem keen anyway, and are also looking at it more as a public server, rather than for practice.

I say that we should go with the Geeks, and possibly invite BBH to make it a 3-way...
