Being a COD title, I'd guess about 2 years from now...

Truth spoken unfortunately. There MIGHT be a 10% sale before release as I see that happening with other AAA titles. Will keep an eye out. Remember though, we don't know the dedicated server situation!

Hopefully this information will come out soon-ish. Remember, the release date is November 3 only, still a while.

Ok cool lets keep an eye on this but as I have said a few times now, any new game I purchase as far as clan games go will only be made like a month after a few people have adopted it and given it a green light.

Been gaming for close to 25 years now and this last year and a bit has been the most jaded period ever for me. I am just glad that they finally got BF right and that Hardline has been postponed.

I think that saved a lot of BF fans.

That'll never happen with COD. Other titles will incentivise you to pre-order, not the most successful FPS franchise on the planet. I't's gonna be $60 for a long time from now.

There is a COD:Ghosts league, and when I looked at the MP in that it looked to be run through matchmaking. I assume then that they will be able to make the game competitive even if it doesn't have the dedicated server setup that we're used to?

Anyone played a recent COD title competitively (MW2 or later)? If so, how does it work?

Pre-order is up at BT Games, for R525. This is cheaper than Steam, at $60.

It's a Steam key, so makes sense to buy that way.

Most likely not... they seem to approve of them matchmaking scheme, so no need for dedicated servers.

(Us with kak internet are not of concern to them)

Got a source on that? Have the actual developers stated that they're going with matchmaking for CODAW?

They know that matchmaking pissed off their PC market previously, so I will await their official statement before judgement.

I think the question is more about dedicated servers in general. Given the popularity of the franchise you can be pretty sure that, should the game support dedicated servers, they will have servers available in SA.

As whether or not the game supports this, your guess is as good as mine. Still keen to know how MW3, Blops 2 and Ghosts MP works.

I tried firing up MP in Ghosts last night, and it wasn't encouraging. MP required me to choose a game type, and then it searched for games for me to join. I selected TDM (usually the most popular COD mode), and it searched for a few seconds before saying that there were no games available. The same applied for the other game types.

Either Ghosts has been a miserable failure on PC ins SA if no-one is playing public MP games, or the matchmaking system is totally fucked.
