Woohoo, I am keen for some BF4 league play and such. And I am really interested to see what comes out of the rest of the discussion below around the future of the clan. A couple of other things to look at, I am not sure if you guys subscribe to levelcap on you tube, but what he has done with his channel and for himself is amazing. The guy makes a living by uploading BF3 tips, strategy and weapon review videos online, I am sure we can take some business/interaction/style tips from him. In case you don't know already here it is: http://www.youtube.com/user/LevelCapGaming.
Also, the new battlelog in BF4 is going to have some pretty cool features, I was quite interested in the 'friend' challenge section where you can create any sort of game play related challenge and your friends can go and compete to see who is the best on the leaderboards.... Maybe grrr starts a challenge of the week/month sort of thing, and you can win something if you top the leaderboard at the end of the week? That something should be free and valuable at the same time to save us costs, something like a 1 hour training/tips session with BVD/NSD/RFH/grrr. That way we make the big boys feel good, the little girls who won the challenge feel good and help build and connect the community at the same time all for FREE! hopefully

Anyways I guess it all depends on what we are trying to accomplish, maybe that's the place to start? The ideas are all good, but unless you know the direction you want to go in, you end up kind of going around in circles, saying/doing the same things over again.

Yeah, I havent had time (yet) to reply, I do love the enthooz keep it coming.

I've mentioned it before, but I have an idea as to how/when/where/what to do to ensure we're STRONG for BF4.
As soon as I've got time to create my wall of text, I'll post it.

The ideas that have been discussed are brilliant, and using this time to focus on generating ideas and continuing to do so will be of great benefit. I tend to agree with the sentiments that our thoughts tend to be way more ahead of the trend, but who's to say that's bad! We just need to find a core focus that we can all participate in and add to and with a bit of graft anything is possible.

I'll be off line for a while 'moving' etc so will be scoping the ideas on the forum and perhaps we could look to organizing our discussions in more focused manners down the line.

In terms what I think re BF4 and competitive play, I've been out the scene for sometime, but grrr is a community presence and I think we should still participate in community events to remain engaged with the community. So I'd say if we have the willing leadership and manpower there is no reason why we shouldn't take part in the DGL.

There are so many avenues we can explore like Phat's and Hubris and others have posted as well as our Grand Leader earlier on the year, I think we in a good position having these discussions now. I'm big on this and perhaps we should look to bring some of our real world experiences to bare. I'm pretty good at chairing Conference call's and project discussions even brainstorming sessions so when we get to that stage I wouldn't mind keep order to any possible mumble meetings that may be needed.

I eagerly await other feedback and thoughts on the topics raised...

So work like eh... sho....

Very important for us to consider

http://dogamingforum.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1846

Especially if we might be fielding 2 teams. If BF4 is a continuation of BF3 then the same rules apply regarding players moving in and out of teams. That is unless we want to start right at the bottom and scrap the current team and register completely new team/s in BF4

Ya the core player limit, could be a prob for us with new players and others coming back.

I say scrap the team and lets start from the bottom. We have a whole year to make up for lost ground and think it would be fun to fight to the top. This way you can actually see who you want in what team aswell.

Also, BF4 has 5 man squads, so is it likely teams will be 10 v 10, with 4 reserves leading to 14 man squads?

no, doubt they'll change the team size. 8v8 has always been the standard.

before we do anything, we need to get our numbers. how many people are going to compete? who wants to be in the serious team and who wants to be part of the cereal team. etc...

I think to promote the competitive nature of our clan 2 teams would be ideal. Some inner clan rivalry would make for lots of fun and be good to
our serious team.
