Hahaha can't deny the German heritage J0n-bot

I have no intention of being el capitan though, I can barely muster the leadership and coordination required to get myself out of bed in the mornings. You're right, an institution will probably just defeat what it means to be grrr.

This is slightly off topic but Hubrus touched on it. I think (depending on the numbers)
We will need to have two teams in grrr for the league (assuming there will be one). One team that consists of people who have the time and inclination to take clannies a bit more seriously. We will always have fun but I think that in order for us to at least be competitive we will need a consistent squad, regular practises and a bit more "discipline"
The other team will be more of a casual team, this will be the team for people who want to play clannies but don't have the time or inclination to take it too seriously.
The "first" team will need to have regular pracs against opponents that are at least as good as us, preferably better so that we can learn. There will need to be "formal" debriefings on areas that need to be improved on etc. We will also need a system to promote and demote people from the team. I wouldn't like to see it get to the stage where we are like FiB or anything but if for example game after game a player keeps on going lone wolf despite this being brought up, the person would need to be replaced.
I think once we have the new leadership in place they can iron out the details but I do think we need to formalise our clan matches a bit more

Good thinking Paul, good luck to the new leader in ironing out the details.
Not sure where I will fall in the two team structure. I theory I'll have more gaming time when I'm in Jozi, but less in CPT. So I could certainly practice Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights and play matches on a Sunday, but not much more than that.

I agree with Paul and as J said - its working out the details that will be tricky. I'm hoping to have more gaming time after my holiday and rAge.
Wrt the server, I believe the best option would be a 32 player server shared with another clan. The only problem I foresee with sharing a server is schedule conflicts. I think some basic terms of use would need to be stipulated between the clans on the outset.

I dont see potential conflicts with server useage. Make a forum board for server bookings, first booking gets the server. Server admin rights to both clans. Team captains need to book in advance. The end.

And then we get some retard that books the server for 10 weeks in advance and doesn't use it?
I agree with Sheri, we would need some simple ground rules.

Agreed. So, are we going to go ahead with this idea? If so, it would make sense to get something set up while there's still a pre-order discount available.
Sheri, are you going to approach other clans to see if they want to to partner with us. Based on Paul's post, it makes sense to approach SSG first, they would be a good training partner for us.
At the end of the day, if we want to be competitive in BF3, we need to have our own server. Being that BF3 is the next big thing, I think we do want to be competitive?

Just in case anyone missed flattie's post in our Suggestion Board:
http://www.grrr.co.za/forum/index.php?topic=2652.0Even if we aren't keen to partner with WrG, can an admin pls respond to his request? Shotto.
