Ok, update.
Extract all 3 files into 1 folder (The Lord of the Rings Online.7z.001/002/003).
Right click any one of them and select "Extract Here" under the 7zip sub-menu.
Copy Paste over your LOTRO install.
???
Profit.

So I installed, unzipped the game Directory and copied it to my game directory.
When I launched the game it said something about downloading C++ distributable, then it installed it.
After that it said it need to download DirectX 9 but after taking for ever it said something like the server was available and I should download the file from microsoft.
I did that over night and will install it when I get home. Now should that be the end of it? Will the game actually launch?
What do I do after that?

Should launch after you have installed all the pre-requisite software.
Which is the direct X and the C++

I hear the process is more reliable if you do it wear pink tights or so Lee told me. Try that.

Give it a shot at creating an account, but trust me, you're going to be massively frustrated.
Seems like the migration is causing issues and the client / website / everything makes you create a CODEMASTERS/COG account, when in fact, you should be creating a TURBINE account.
Its not as easy as creating a TURBINE account. The official FAQ states that you shouldn't try do that as its not going to work either.
For those that don't know, LOTRO is moving from CODEMASTERS to TURBINE (inna nutshell).
Seems like if you haven't created an account for LOTRO yet, you're better off waiting till tomorrow when the server migration thingie is happening.

So maybe I should rather wait till next week for all the issues to be ironed out? I did create a COG account when I started the download, but paused that before the XXXL weekend. Will that have any negative affects which will lead me to pulling my hair out?

So.....
I did the whole install thingshebang and it had a small update. Log in and choose Snowbourn and then I get a game error:
'Game Error [201]
Can't open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them. The program will now exit. [201]'
So that is how far I got

Any ideas?
Edit: P.S. There was also a slight wobble between the install discs of the game between disc 1/3 and 2/3, files (e) & (f) and not being able to find 2 files - some or other 'cyclic reduncancy check' error thing with the client_mesh.dat? Not sure if that is the cause of the above issue.
