Agreed, first prize is to know what maps we are playing against Bod and use them in our TE game otherwise we do metro and Bazaar as those are the two most common choices
and "problematic" for us
Note taking anything away from them the A2K team we play are their second team, the one that beat us finish top of the cup and are in Second division

Sorry for the double post, but I thought I should get a word in about the games. TE were extremely well organised and vicious, just what we wanted. I think it was a good match up for because it put everything back into perspective for us. We can't get too comfortable with any given map or the intensity of play.
Good effort on Metro guys, but we learnt a hard lesson on that map again. It seems it's just one of those maps you either have trained to be in the zone for, or if you haven't practiced it can be very painful learning all the spots and pressure points over.
I'm really sorry about the spat I had with Lee, I have crazy respect for him and I regret the bad words. We were splintering as a team and I was desperate to keep us all on the same page. Anyway he and I have spoken and we've made up. I'm sorry Lee, I'll learn to respect my seniors, like a lightie should

I'll leave GB commentary to you guys but the first round was very quiet and I think we were just a bit shellshocked. We'll definitely need to work out that IFV stealing tactic. It might just come in handy if we know how to do it. It seem like the second round went a bit better at first, but then just got ugly.

Well now that little tissue fest is over between Lee and Hubris here are my.
* Shit gets said in battle and we mustn't take it personally. But we should also try to remain calm
* Calm, this is when we pwned on metro. We were getting our ass handed to us, we took a step, regrouped and then it worked out. This is something we need to work on
* On bazaar we constantly get our asses handed to us because similar to tehran we haven't figured it out so I would suggest until we have it nailed down or the team is very weak we eliminate it.
* It is imperative we practise at least 4 maps backwards. We have Sienne down solid I think. Davamand is almost up there. Metro, is also actually a map we know but there are a few funnies. Like having spawn points at the back of B so that if we get over run in Lockers we can push back.
Back to strats - Bazaar, I was thinking last night, what if we ditch the APC all together? We have a 4 man armour squad that hunts that caps flags while setting traps for armour. 4 Guys with Rockets and mines, we can channel APC's and then surround them with 3/4 similtaneous rockets which should blow them up, just a thought

The only reason TE didn't use the IFV is because they had just lost it and needed troops on a flag. After that, they must have decided not to use it because they had our IFV spawn trapped. I really don't see how playing only infantry is going to handle the speed, power and durability of armour. I don't read anything into it or them stealing our IFV. When you're pooning a side, you do funny things. But it's not the funny things that got the side pooned, although they may have made things worse.
Guys last night was not a strat problem. We went through this a few weeks ago. We stop trying in practice and expect games served up to us. The reality is we played shit as individuals and even worse as a team. When things don't go our way we like to throw our toys out the cot and we loose sight of what's important. It stems from a lack of discipline and a refusal to take onwerhip of your and everyone else's role in the team. More of the same desperado play style.
Anyway it was a practice game designed to level us after FiB. We cant lose sight of the fundamentals just because we won one game. I'll be cracking down again at practice tonight. It won't be fun but it will straighten out the kinks in our play. I'm going to focus on tactical play and forcing people to communicate more effectively, if we can't get that done in practice we'll never do it in game.

OK then in that case we need a dedicated Bazaar team, I know that will be tough but this similar to metro (especially in B) require exact line defense and tactics. The people who play this map need to know the strats backwards

Can't we all just learn the strats backwards? They are pretty much spelled out before every game anyway. I agree with you Paul, we need specific players, roles and responsibilities; but we need it on every map not just OM and GB.
The team isn't going to change much so guys should have consistency, but the key is to know what your role is before the game and then applying your own mind to how to do that role effectively. Again, it comes down to players:
a) knowing the strat, b) getting their role fom the TL, c) visualising their role playing out and d) owning their role and contributing to discussions about strats and tactics. 2c
We also failed miserably on terms of pair play. We're so obsessed with ressing and avenging that we give away tickets, ground and spawn points. We'll be going back to class on the pair play in prac, it's a huge factor on Seine. We have to get our buddy system much more disciplined.
