I think our strats for Davamand and Grand Bazaar are good especially for the first time suprise attack, I just hope that we either don't play SSG on the maps or that this team doesn't give them enough detail

That's a valid point! But the primary goal in both strats, if I stand to be corrected is to eliminate the enemy amour then proceed to hold the flags?

This should be played against another team in the league to ensure that what ever resistance the strats take they stand up to the test.

Hubris_za wrote:Cool. On the strats Paul, BF3 like any game is won by dominant strategy and then how well you adapt that to the situation at hand. It's not ideal if a team communicates our strats because we lose out on that suprise factor, but it isn't the end of the world.

Eventually every team in the league should be playing dominant strategies, but there will always be those teams that either don't cotton on or decide to do something irrational for a big risk / big win option. So I don't think we should get too wound up about it.

Let's see who's online tonight and if need be try reschedule for Sunday. The worrying thing here is that we don't have everyone available. I'm not going to get into morality judgements of excuses/reasons, but it is the bigger issue facing the success of the team.

We're cutting it fine. Lep and Pmurgs are MIA, Drag is playing ME3 and NoMaD is still a part timer. When Ion moves we are going to have problems fielding a team. So unless those conditions change we should be thinking about a roster change or two for DGL.

Hubris, when I sent you the PM, I didn't realise that you had a crisis for players. If I am really needed, I will drop ME3 and give my full attention to the DGL.

What's happened to Murgs? Has anyone spoken with him to find out why he's MIA? He's always been the most consistently available player in the past. As for Lep, I know that he works shifts, but surely he can play at least some of the games?

100% agree Hubris, as I said when the team was announced, at the end of the leg we re-assess and drop and add players as it is needed. I think we are still in "good shape" for the rest of the leg, only 2 matches left and I am sure the regulars will be able to make it.

We only having a problem now because it is a thursday and most people previously said they aren't available on Thursday. If the match were to be rescheduled to Sunday I am sure there would be no issues. As it stand now though lets leave the game for tonight and see if there are problems.

I didn't mean to make a scene, but we need to be honest about what is really affecting us. I'm not very good at this sort of thing and it always seems to come out wrong. It's not a crisis right now, so please play ME3 (I will play some too). All I'm trying to do is keep everyone aware of the issue so there are no suprises down the line.

My view is that if you have reasons to be elsewhere, that's between you and your conscience. I'm not going to micromanage player time or tell them how to live their lives, so I rely a lot on motivation of players and then make decisions on the big trends. Thankfully everyone is quite good about providing notice so we're normally able to adapt.

Pmurgs and Lep, who knows. I think it's a mix of availability and a mix of emotion. They're obviously at least a little hurt they weren't included as first choices, but consistently not pitching just validates benching before any other arguments. I havnt seen them online on Grrr, Battlelog or Mumble for some time.

No one as ever sent me a PM complaining about the way I do things or taken the time to tell me how I should see things differently, so... I take it at face value. If we run short, I'll definitely make more noise, I'm just raising a flag here. If things get worse, we have to make a plan and/or revise our expectations.

Don't get me wrong though we have some very committed players an their sacrifice is appreciated. I understand Thursday might be an issue, but which day isn't? If it were not for the bye we wouldn't have the luxury of rescheduling. So the quicker we decide the extra prac day the better.

Hey, Stef. I'm sure if you PM murgs he'll get back to you. Last I heard he had probs with his hardware and was swapping stuff out to try get it sorted. Best way to check on Lep is to get hold of Sheri and check - he's prob on evening shifts atm or something.

I think you guys should just pull in anyone who can play tonight. Maybe some of Nuts will be around tonight to help out. The last few practice sessions you have had 8 or more players show up so I think you will be ok. Also there are only two more DGL games to play and like I suggested before in this thread http://www.grrr.co.za/forum/index.php?topic=2832.msg46613;topicseen#new you will need to decide if you can commit or not.

With regards to reserves the team needs to adopt the attitude of "best player for the best role". The only way you can really field a team is to use every last player, if you attend the practice games and play in the matches then you give the team and yourself a chance to work out were exactly you play best.

From what I can tell the team has formulated basic opening strats for Bazar, Siene, Damavand, Metro, Terhan . All four of these maps need a little more work and and then you can practice them by playing straight up 8 vs 8 games.
