Re: ASF DGL Sunday 26th
Well played guys, yet we lost but we put up the biggest fight. Our weakest point is our armour and I am going to be honest here, I have no clue how to fix it. I have been both a spanner monkey and a driver and I am not exactly sure what is not gelling

Looks like you did ok in the first round. 163 is not a bad loss.

I agree 100%. We played against a fully sponsored side that are one of the favourites for the tourney.
Well played guys.
Feedback:
Everything went well from a ground pounding point of view. They beat us because they were better shots than us. Our strats were similar and as a team, I felt we are even in some areas... But from a skill POV, some of their players are just too shit hot. I have no idea how to beat this to be honest. The nature of most maps in comp BF3 mean that you can go slow and cautious to a point and then you need to swarm a point (this has worked very well for us so lets keep it). But once you're rushing up, to get our full squad mowed down by one guy (zClwn last night) hurts a lot. I don't know how to sharpen my infantry skills and would like to get better.
Their execution of the second round was perfect and we paid dearly for it.
Armor is indeed a concern and I need to state it again here. We need an armor team that LOVES armor, that enjoys it, researches it, knows the hitboxes/accelaration/handbrake radius etc of all the armor. Someone who knows EXACTLY how it works. Grrr are predominantly a ground pound team, and armor was always going to be a challenge. We need an armor whore or someone to start whoring armor. A LOT. And not for the sake of it. They need to love it. I know thats a bitter pill to swallow, but its my 2c.
Also, I need to stop messing around on pub servers I think.. No more achievement whoring.. The game should be fun, but I guess if I played predominantly with the weapon I use in competitive play, on public servers, I would be better off... I dunno.. your 2c?

Re: ASF DGL Sunday 26th
The problem with the armour is the squad, I do armour whore on the Publics and 1 on 1 I generally come off best. I think I am quite capable in armour BUT when it comes to clan games it is totally different and we haven't found the perfect mix.
So what you are actually saying is true, let for instance say that I was going to Drive full time and j0nny and cr0n0s were going to be the spanner monkey's, we need to then be on the publics as much as possible just playing in armour. BUT I hardly get to play with both j0nny and cr0n0s and when we do then j0nny is playing sniper and cr0n0s is support.
So yes, we need to find 1 person who loves to driver and 2 who love to spanner and shoot rockets. Until then we will have half a team.
P.S. I am not pointing fingers, I was just using myself, j0nny and cr0n0s as an example, the same would apply to Leppy, Murgs who have also had a chance at being in the armour squad.

Re: ASF DGL Sunday 26th
Ya all in all a decent game. ARES and SSG are must win matches for us if we are going to get a good seeding. I'll try arrange a mid week game versus BvD once the elimination process is complete with ARES. I want to throw out Tehran, Damavand and Noshahr (Metro, Seine and Bazaar in).
I know we think we can make Tehran, Damavand or Noshahr work for us, but we don't have one (or two) Scout Helo pilots. Without ECM, Laser Painter and Guided Missile we will be at a major disadvantage. Our armour is also struggling so if possible I want to play a familiar map where "strats" won't be to blame.
Sure to be controversial, so please share your views and reasons for going one way or the other - or even just discuss certain maps.
Generally speaking, we're not getting enough time online as a team. Most of us are still ages away from vehicle and assignment unlocks. Without the best weapons, perks and experience we are just limiting ourselves terribly. Must get online more please guys, get those hours in to unlock, explore, improve our base work rates and perfect our clam load out.
We were short reserves again. I don't know why we struggle to get commitment from the full team. I know it's not lekker to be left out, but at the end of the day I am trying to guide us towards winning matches not a popularity contest. Help me out here bros. What is going on? If you're upset, nut up and prove to me you should play. The worst thing you can do is withdraw.
Despite what you may think, there is very little competition in the team. Our players are totally one or two dimensional and it makes rotation unwise. Sad part is, we can't even say, hey I'm one of the best Support/Engineer/Driver/Spanner/anything in SA. We just don't seem to have that killer instinct to go out and improve ourselves, it's so much easier to poon COD fools on Karkand maps.
Ask yourself, do I take my game seriosuly enough to deserve a place in Premiere? Your BF2 stats cant help you. I know we also play for fun, but if that is all you do except for match practices, you can't honestly expect to do well. Bitch and moan complete.
ASF were brutal, but we gave them a good run. I think the 4 man squad system works well, but it does encourage the defence unit to get involved with the vanguard and IFv more than they are supposed to. Maybe it's just discipline we need to work on. Sharing perks is such a plus, but we do end up short another spawn point. Thoughts?
I'll upload my videos tonight for your viewing pleasure.

Re: ASF DGL Sunday 26th
Hmmm, I thought that all unlocks were available to everyone in the League, including the vehicle unlocks? If not, then this should be addressed to organisers!!
You've seen my opinions on map selection previously, I won't go into it again here, suffice to say, I do think that we should stay away from Metro. It's a purely IO map, and it plays into the hands of any players who have more experience with COD/CS. I see that ARES is a dedicated BF3 clan, but I don't know the players in the team very well - where do they come from? At the end of the day though Hubris, you're the captain, the map decision sits with you.
As for being short on reserves last night, I was around and available all evening, as I am every Sunday. If there is an issue with players, you just need to give me a call and I'll be there.
