You may see a mate of mine - Viking (aka Mike Vaughn) - on mumble... He is new at the game and will provide good cannon fodder or at least a human shield. Dont forget to t-bag him...

We tried to join Mumble last night but we got an error message saying:
'A referral was returned from the server.'
Does this mean there is something wrong with our service provider (MWeb) or whatwhats not right? I know Lee fixed the thingy so was just wondering if anybody has some ideas and maybe check with MWeb if they have recently changed our account permissions or something? We also tried TS and that didn't work either - 'Failed to connect to server'
P.S. Its also not possible for us to join any SGS servers as the server thinks our IP addy isn't from South Africa.

thats weird - what ISP are you using - sounds like something "strange" has been configured for your Internet connection.

We are sharing the internets with the in-laws. My father-in-law has recently started up a business and has been dealing with MWeb for his business' website. We were wondering if they have done something to the connection (like you say) or they've changed settings or whatever?

I'm using mweb, I've had no problems this week with any servers or mumble/ts.
But of course, it all depends on what sort of "internets" you are sharing with your in-laws.

Dirk and I are also with Mweb and mumble seems fine. So I don't think its Mweb itself.

Could be that he has a voip phone or service from mweb, and that could be blocking the voip traffic from mumble and teamspeak.

Mumbe/TS Still not working
We phoned MWeb this morning and the guy says that sometimes when you connect, the exchange assigns you to a new ip addy and sometimes, if you are very lucky, you get a bum one from Telkom. (Our ip changed from a 41. ... . ... to a 197. ... . weird). We will be moving the complete internet thingy to MWeb where they deal directly with Telkom if something goes wrong on our side.
Not sure what to do next wrt to not being able to Mumble though other than ask them what Tyger suggested the problem could be.
Stupid Question: The ports or ip of Mumble haven't changed, have they?
