I've tested the MAV and even with my shocking recon skills I was able to fly it pretty much as long as I liked as long as I was smart and patient. You can kill with it and the ping radius is smaller than the TUGS, but you get a more frequent spotting based on motion not sprinting (TUGS only picks up sprinting I think). You really helped in the last game by placing a TUGS in the area and I really can't think of anyone else who is as good at being schneaky.

My tactic was to fly it into a busy area, as high as I can control it, and look for a good spot low enough and I would park it. It spots while you play, so it could be great for the front of B when we attack and the back of B when we defend. I say use a USAS, place the dank, pick up a kit if you can, or just respawn as Assault. Why not even spawn Recon twice per round to place both TUGS and an MAV.

If you feel Recon is too weak, suicide. Makes perfect sense to me for the value of situational awareness and an extra paddle. You and Paul are meant to be a roaming reinforcement squad; but at some point we will need you to cover our defences most obvious flank route. So probably around the back escalators. I say USAS because it would reap in that area at the start, so you at least have a good chance of dealing some damage with the Recon kit. They'll run right into you and ... shotguns :D

Yes in every game I think its a good idea for the Assault players to stay in good cover and protect squadies. They can lend their weight on the push, but they really are VIPs, we can't have them going down all the time. They must stay up to heal, res and protect squadies in the fight. At the start, Paul should cover you while you place the goodies then the two of you are paddles for hire unless they can use the back escalators to get in behind us (RU side when holding B on Metro only).

EDIT: I am also far more comfortable playing as medic and being res monkey for a decent pwner - not sure if Paul's unavailability influences kit roll out at all. Anyways, whatever, whenever, 100% shall be given.

J0no, if you've unlocked it, the PDW-R is a superb assault style weapon that is usable by any kit. Or, if you're in a close quarters environment, the DAO does some serious damage too :)

@Hubris - You don't want engineer support for the armour squad?

I'll be on for prac tonight, but will need to duck at some point. I need to talk with Camilla when the kids are down - unfortunately my youngest is going to need an op next week and I need to talk logistics.

Yeah sorry about that, mistype, I was thinking Leppy Assault and you Engineer. If you really think you need another spanner then J0nny should replace me for the role or I'll happily give it a go.

So for operation metro... assuming its the default 3 flag map we play on public... I think planting a mobile spawn point at the start is a good idea. We try rush one soldier at the start to plant it near the enemies back flag as a method to get around them should we loose the middle flag. Or perhaps between our back flag and the middle flag, in case we get routed back to our spawn. Just something I thought we should consider.

Good point - also the league is supposedly allowing all unlocks, so even if I haven't unlocked a weapon, I can still use it for clannies (the downside being that I can't practice with it on the open servers).

Cool I see no problem with J0nny plaing a beacon between B and our back flag in case we get pushed off B. Just like with the spotting toys, this has to be in a clever spot they wouldnt use when trying to keep us off B. At map start they will all rush B so I don't think we can place it on their side cheaply. Let's just leave their back flag alone until we have them on the ropes.

The PDW-R is unlocked at level 32, which it sems is your rank now... So you should be able to load it up on the public servers and cause some mayhem :)

The DAO you have already due to the Physical Warfare pack.
