I might be going to Mozambique with Jackie's family around that time. Let me double check and get back to y'all.

Good thinking on getting this up early Jarrod. Kalula tends to have these MAD specials every now and then and you can get a return flight JHB -> CT for R800 +- return. Will keep my ear to the ground for these.

Let me see how things are looking "on the homefront" as they say. Lots of planning and things to be done, so like i said, its good to put notice in early.

It may be a bit difficult for me tho... It is only fair that us Vaalies do our bit, as you guys make a mission up here for rAge, and will again this year!
(I am going to George for the Easter break, Greece for 2 and a half weeks in July, and Thailand in December... so things could be a bit tricky on the financial side)

I may be able to put up a couple of people. Will know for sure closer to the time.

I can put a roof over someone's head, but they'll have to sleep on my tiny couch or a bean bag.

Okay, so based on the feedback in this thread, the event is confirmed for the weekend of the 28th/29th of May. Now we just need to finalise numbers, sort out travel and accommodation logistics for the out of towners, and start putting together a list of activities for the weekend.

As previously mentioned, I'm thinking it would be good to have an activity day on the Saturday, followed up with a big party on Saturday night. That way, there's no commitment required for anyone to be up and about on the Sunday morning.

I reckon something like Paintball would be good for the Saturday event. Would anyone not be keen to give this a go? Anyone got any other suggestions of group activities that we could get into?

So far we have confirmed attendance from the following out of towners:

* Shadey and Lep
* Darkwing Duck

Waiting on confirmation from the following others:

* Paul (may be in Mozambique)
* Phatso (need to sort out funds)

Please can you guys let us know if you're going to be able to join the fun. We'd really love to have you with us.

As for accommodation, the following has been offered up:

* Drags and Daz - will put up Shadey, Lep, Onxy and U2M
* J0no has offered up a couch in his flat
* Ice has offered up a granny flat at his mom's place
* Murgs has offered accommodation
* Mega should be able to help with accommodation, but isn't sure if he'll be here or somewhere in Africa

That should be plenty of accommodation for our out of towners. And I'm sure that Skoups would offer up a room as well (if he ever bothered to read the forum any more).

For those with financial constraints to getting down here, please either post here or drop me a PM, and we'll see where we can help out.

For the purposes of seeing whats what, I attached a screenie of Kalula Flights from JHB -> CPT as is right now. (please don't see this as a OMG BE ALL END ALL...)

Considering work, logistics, financials, and the fact that I do not have 1 day of leave to spare (even rAge is going to be tough...) the best time seems like 19:25 (land at 21:35) on the 27th and leave at 11:45 (land at 13:45). That would be R1578.00.

The alternative to this is to land at 23:20 in CPT on Friday, which is quite late. The saving here is R160.00 = R1418.00.

This is right now and prices change like crazy. I would imagine there would be one of those MAD specials coming up before the time and that is what I am waiting for. You can get crazy returns to and from CPT for like R1000.00 give or take.
I will also post other airlines as time allows for a better indication. Swamped at work at the moment.

PS: I have checked the new airline Velvet Sky and they only have 1 flight available on the day, and its in the morning (out of the question for me).

OK you can put me down as a Tentative. Not going to Moz at the time but finances might be an issue.

Also one of Jackie's friends may be having a 30th Birthday on that weekend as well so we just checking to see if Jackie will be able to make it.
