a second opinion wouldn't hurt... but be careful of the intrawebs and medical diagnosis... at least the second opinion may give that extra piece of mind... I'll be thinking of you and your recovery shady...

O.M.G Stu actually made a valid point. Getting a second opinion from a specialist especially might be a good idea. I know of several instances where family or friends were misdiagnosed and their recovery therefore slow. Luckily it was never anything hectic but you don't want to chance it with a symptom as serious as this.

All of the best Shei, my thoughts are with you at this time. It's always terrible to face any condition that you have no control over. I've suffered from something that changes behaviour in the past, and it can be very scary to deal with.

Be strong, and don't forget that you have you family here that care about you and wish you well. Let us know if thee is anything that we can do to help.

So i went for another doc appointment on Wednesday. This doc was obviously more knowledgeable! She put me on anti-virals and gave me 3 very sore shots - right in the bum! I need to go again for 2 more shots over 2 weeks.
I think my face is improving as I am not getting constant twitches anymore. The muscle control is still about the same, but I know that will take some time.
I have the number for a neurologist and gave him a call yesterday. He believes at this time it is not necessary to see me but to rather wait and see how the recovery goes - I am very lucky not to have full paralysis on the right side. Besides which, it would cost R600 just for the out-patient consultation!!

Overall, I am feeling much better and in a good mental state. Thanks for being there for me - my 2nd family - I really appreciate it! :thanks:
