The slush fund currently has a balance of R3900. We've just paid out R1700 for our website hosting for the next year.

Unfortunately we are below the level that we'd normally be at by this time of the year, contributions from members has been terrible this year. We have about five people that contribute monthly, out of a membership of about 25 or more. It's piss poor unfortunately. For that reason, I doubt that we'll be able to help out of towners get up to rAge. Considering that last year we got a good subsidy for everyone on accommodation, and covered flights for those who could not afford to make it up there.

Obviously whatever we have in the fund will be used to help with rAge, but I don't think it's fair to put those funds into subsidization of food/accommodation. That would be fine if we had the majority of members contributing, then we would all reap the benefits.

I think we need to use the funds that we have to make sure as many people as possible can make it up to JHB. This means subsidising fuel for a car or two to bring people up. R3500 that we have should cover a fair portion of the petrol cost for two cars, which would be enough to bring all of the Capetonians up there. Then we can give the rest of what's left (should get up to about a grand by October) to the Duck to cover the cost of bringing his moving van full of gear that he brings to entertain us with each year.

Anyone disagree?

Happy to manage this, I suggest using the normal slush fund, I don't want to set up another account.

If you want to contribute specifically for food for the weekend, put your nick and FOOD in the payment notification.

However, this only works if everyone agrees to contribute. It's not fair if some people pay and the rest freeload on the communal food.

If anyone has a reason that they can't afford to pay R150 into the food kitty for the weekend please let me know (via PM if you don't want to post publicly). We're a clan that supports each there, so if anyone genuinely can't afford the contribution, I'll make it up out of the slush fund.

Grant, thanks for taking on the responsibility of procuring/cooking food for this rabble, at this rate you'll overtake Onny as Clan Mom... ;)

Great idea Grant - I'm more than happy to contribute towards chow. Must the CT guys contribute towards fuel (if there are going to be people driving up) to the slush fund as well or is that arranged differently.

I think we need to start a drive now to collect slush fund money specifically for rage. This is to subsidize what ever needs to be and to make sure Jarrod or someone else doesn't have to run after people collecting money. It would be best if between now and rAge we collect all money so that there is no post-rage financial hangover

Ok well lets make this easy.

If you are attending RAGE, please for the next 3 months put R150 a month into the grrr slush fund.
You can pay more too, but this should be the min.

Guys can we please do a vintage t-shirt as its the 10 year thing?

We can do the original dark navy color with the original logo and nick on the sleeve with maybe a 10 year thing on the front?

really would like a shirt like the original of old? that shirt lasted me years also.

i'll contribute to the slush, but as i said i'll be flying to jhb, the hobbits's(golli &kill) will bunk together single beds as golli has night tremors and has a mean wrestle grip in is sleep... you dont want to know

I owe grrr about 2800 for last year that is going to be paid in the next 2 or so months, I'm willing to add additional cash for the previous sponsorships I received so willing to contribute a little more!

Badass - think the drive up like we have done in the past is epic - Stu sleeping the whole 1400 km after a good mary jane - Denis providing 2 kg of biltong, arranging leave now!!! whoop whoop ( Will LAN if there's enough guys/girls going). Going with Ion on the t-shirt, should be something you WANT to wear to work on a Friday
