Actually, the mathematics in such a case is based on what is called characters per minute (CPM). Given that the average lenght of english words is 4.5 characters, that just means QED. There are a good argument to be had regarding whether or not the Backpsace should count as a character or not, given the error rate, I would imagine said button was pressed a number of times in the compliation of the 10second response.
