I have been playing the Witcher 2 quite a bit. I dabble in BF4 now and then but until it is super stable I will not be a regular until DGL starts

I've installed Dota 2 but have only played the first tutorial so far. Would be keen to give it a go, buit would want to team up with people I know to start with, don't want to be flamed left right and centre before I know what I'm doing!!

ok guys, I've managed to gather quite a cool group of guys whom mostly just started Dota 2 together. (my band of merry brothers who plays Supreme Commander regulary). Any event, invite me as a friend, SKOUPERD (easy nick) on Steam if you are also just starting to play or feel like coaching some newbies.

for those that have no idea what DOTA 2 is, here is a noobs summary of it:
Hi guys, I’ve been playing DOTA2 for the first time ever last week. I am not sure who of you have played it before, but it effectively works as follows.
1. You have a big structure (Ancient) to defend at the very back of your base
2. You have a couple of towers to defend (6 in total)
3. There are three “lanes”, top, middle and bottom. Each lane has 2 towers in a linear fashion.
4. You get a hero, there are a ton of different heroes to select from, and each hero as special abilities, some is long range, some is melee some heal, some use magic etc.
5. You have what is called “creeps” that spawn at the back of your base continuously. These creeps proceed done the three lanes in well spaced groups.
6. The enemy spawn creeps as well
7. These creeps meet in the middle and they will basically cancel each other out. (they are very well balanced)
8. Only with the help of your hero will your creeps be able to wipe out the enemy creeps.
9. If you try to take on the opposing creeps on your own, chances are your hero will die. As such, you really want to fight and advance with your creeps. If the opposing team has a hero helping their creeps, then the game is exceptionally well balanced and only a really good strategist will advance to the enemy towers
10. The objective of the game is to destroy the enemy’s big structure (Ancient). He who destroys the enemy’s ancient is victorious.
11. You get gold by killing the opposing team’s creeps, and XP by being close to the fights. Both these gold and XP can be used to upgrade your hero and buying various things. (Health, Mana (used for casting spells or special abilities), faster boots, better armor, etc.) There must be millions of different combinations in the game.
