Yip that is why I say we just ban him from our server and we can take it to the "authorities" like EA and DGL without plastering it all over the internet

Good find kalgat!

Agreed with Hubris and Duck. As much as hackers deserve to be named / shamed, it is not our place. We will ban him from our servers and report him through official channels.

I will go with the clan leaders' decision on this, but just out of curiosity, why do we want to pussy foot around cheaters? We will obviously not be able to ban him anywhere but on our server so obviously if we want to get him banned by EA the proper channels will (and has) to be followed but why do we want to treat any cheaters as human beings, they are pieces of useless shit. Period end of story.

Obviously before we lambaste somebody, we need to at least all agree on the following:

  1. Yes, this person is clearly cheating and we have video evidence showing it.
  2. Yes, there is enough evidence in the video so that even a layman can also see this is cheating. (i.e. not well, maybe he is a good player, it needs to be clear that this is hacking!)
  3. The proper channels has been followed and even EA agrees to this being a cheat.
Once the 3 points above is ticked, then I can see no reason why the video should not go viral. In fact, I don’t believe that by us taking a very strong stance will ruin in any way whatsoever the community’s view of GRRR, in fact, I think they may actually strengthen it. Look, it is the same, god forbid, if somebody in GRRR is caught as a cheater, if the evidence is there we should not “protect” that person in any way whatsoever, the same with other clans. If we have clear evidence that this person is cheating, and EA banned his arse, and that clan is still protecting that player, then the community at large need to be able to see the evidence and also know that clan XYZ is a bunch of douchebags who turns a blind eye to cheaters. Pointless to pussy foot around clan XYZ just because they are XYZ. In my mind, having this policy in place will ensure that people will actually want to play where GRRR players are playing because cheaters will know they will get it hard when they screw around us. I have always failed to understand why when people are caught cheating it is such a hush hush affair.

I would actually love it if at the end of the year the clans, who are supposed to be the “guardians” and promoters of the game, goes into a bragging competition of just how many cheaters they identified and got banned from the games. (obviously there is a difference between accusing somebody of cheating and actual cheating which is why I’ve mentioned the above three caveats/guidelines that needs to be true before doing it). In other words, if EA bans them, then there are no doubt that it is a cheat. I agree that just because Pietie thinks Kosie is a hack doesn't warrant a full blown public catastrophy.

Any event, I’ll go with whatever the clan decides on this one. I’ve aired my 2cents.

Ps, I hate cheaters and hackers almost as much as I hate Telkom and Mweb.

If the person is banned by EA and there is proof then maybe we could name and shame but I don't want to be viewed as petty. I too hate hackers, I absolutely hate them but getting them banned from the servers we play on and the DGL is fine for me.

If they make a stink of it then we can publicly roast them, I do beleive though taking the higher road it the right way

I see no reason for not sharing the video in the meantime, just don't say that its hacking, let the obvious speak for itself and let everyone else comment.

If we as players do not stand up and start policing our own community then who will? PB and fairplay obviously only go so far and other services such as metabans and cheatometer have their own inherent flaws in the number of false positives they were spitting out.

I sat through 750hrs of bf3 swearing and cursing many a good player who probably didnt deserve it because of cheats like this and i think when we catch one red handed as in this case they need to be exposed publicly in a grrr like fashion.

I agree with everyone that we cannot just throw hackusations around, unless the video evidence is almost undeniable i wouldnt even post it for discussion as i would rather keep my paranoia to myself...

I will report this person to EA/Dice and attempt to make another video thats a little more grrr, it may take a while with my limited skills.

Guys, I think some are missing the point here.

Its not about giving them fair treatment or pussy footing around them, or being cowardly and not confronting them.

Hackers are the scum of the universe. We HATE them. PB and EB will kick and ban them automatically. Obviously its not immediate, but we can ban someone from our server in the meantime. I don't think we need to publickly lambaste. If you guys want, we can put this up to vote but i am not a fan of riding on what a thread about hackers will become.

This is how I think it will pan out on the public forums.

Us: "Hey guys, here is a vid of a hacker we caught"
Community: "Trollpost 1"
Community: "Trollpost 2"
Community: "Good find, good riddance, gg"
Community: "Trollpost 3"
Community: "Aren't your servers running PB???"
Us: "PB catches hacks it has on their systems, not up to us"
Community: "Yeah, you are all hacking on your server, i'll avoid thanks"
Us: "No, we ban hackers off our servers"
Community: "Trollpost 4-30"

etc

What we MUST do is get all server admins on 1 group of sorts, and share our banlists. That is the best thing we can do. If you give me the go ahead, I will start getting in contact with server owners I know.

As far as I understand, procon's banlist can be shared somehow?

Yes i think talking to other clans and using there ban list and sharing ours will make for a better game for all.
