Perd regardless of what everyone is doing an regardless of what EA's TOS says, this is not something to worry about.
I can guarantee you, there will be NO BANS from ea for having a user.cfg file where you have your keys setup and DrawFPS turned on.
I do get what you are saying, but it is a needless worry over nothing.

For those people, they can easily turn their graphics settings all the way to FUGLY in the game without needing to touch any third party tools.

Cheaters never prosper...So does not cheap sex!...actually anything that simplifies your life is a cheat except slavery.

So, Tyger, let's just ensure I am not misquoting you. Because nobody have ever been banned for it, it is OK to go against the TOS? So, if I install this new super-cool-ultra-undetectable-aimbot on my computer, afterall, nobody have ever been banned for using this bot, is that right? I am taking the extreme here, but the point remains.
As a clan with zero tolerance for cheaters, we can not turn a blind eye to SOME rules just because nobody have ever been caught for breaking them.

Configs was a huge problem back in CoD4, allowed users to do some really dodge stuff. But I think that's because it was based on the quake engine (I could be mistaken)
If BF4 has any of those settings, I'd be against it. But if it's just your normal .cfg where you can change your gfx settings it's probably not that a serious problem. I don't know what you can tweak in there, haven't checked it out myself.

Fyre, irrespective of WHAT you can change, the rules are clear, you MAY NOT use third party tools to alter any file. I am coming back to this that we can not accept SOME rules and some we ignore just because they doesn't suit us.

I am saying it is against the rules and TOS of EA and thus a bannable offence if looking at it from a legal point of view.

As far as I am concerned, if you are editing configs to have 1 key press perform more than 1 action, its dodgy and I frown upon it. Things like G15 macro's to "throw medpack, revive, switch back to gun" are also a nono from my side, by macro software has been around for ages and has never been disabled by games (although I imagine, this is very possible).
If you are editing configs to get more FPS out of the game (like Badass' example), there is nothing wrong with it.
Where the grey area is is with interpolation settings. I remember from BF2, if you wanted a chance in being a competitive TV-guider, you need to tweak the interpolation. It was grey in BF2 because it was a console command. Its now in place as a network slider, so no foul there.
Until there is an official statement about this from EA/DICE/PB/EvenBalance/Fairplay, there is nothing wrong with trying to get the most out of the game FPS wise.

Lol so now you consider it cheating.
Its not an an extreme case. Its TWO completely different things!
Show me one command that can be loaded into a CFG for BF4 that can give you a "Cheating" advantage, as apposed to cheat that on the fly changes dll's and memory locations.
Its not the same thing. Its not even in the same ball park.
EA write those rules to COVER there ass. Those rules are written directly to stop things like cheat apps.
They are not there to stop a guy from enabling drawfps on his screen as default.
You have to take into account the spirit that rules where written in and their intended purpose.
There is no clarity in the rules, and to try and pry one out like you are doing is ludicrous at best.
Its this simple.
Until such time as EA say to quite categorically and clearly that you may not use a user.cfg file in BF4(Something i might add if they didn't want you to use it they would disable it), it will remain something that can be used.
Really perd i get what you saying, i get that you have a point, and in TECHNICAL terms your point may even be right, but it is still a pointless thing to even worry about or debate. If you want to not use a cfg file cool that's your choice. I don't think you should be trying to impose that on me under the guise of we are not a clan who tolerates cheating, because its not the same thing and you know it.
