We will find the right people who will bring the right stuff at the right time and who have the right attitude to fit into the unique mould that is [grrr]. Sometimes they find us and sometimes we find them and I trust those who will be doing the recruiting, etc. to have the right mindset when it comes to approaching potentials.

It will be interesting to see what/who pops up ...

Good topic, and great honesty. I agree that we need to recruit and that there needs to be a stringent process involved to prevent douches entering.

Suggestions:

Founding father panel needs to be the final say in the matter, to make sure those founding values are up held.
If at all possible, try and recruit people we know, or that a clan member can vouch for?
1 month jam period to find the ins and outs of the prospect.

I doubt you'l get anymore guys from BOC. They all focussed on other games not BF. To be honest I wouldnt be here if they didnt lose interest in BF but ya you guys grew on me. BOC was very much the same as grrr but I think our management was lacking after 3 years thats why everything died down. I'm very eager to play clannies as I told Hubris at Rage but I knew I wasnt making the grrr team and to be honest it damped my will to come to practice. I know you guys will tell me I need to be there to show what I've got to convince ect but at the time it was close to Rage and you dont mess with a settled combination. So I'l be there everytime this year. I agree with Hubris on the recruiting front. I recruited or sorry approached more than half of the BOC guys and they were all great guys so I'l help out there if or where I'm permitted. Rage was great but it would have been even better if me, Stu and the rest that wanted to play competiveley was part of a second team and be part of the special thing that was the DGL tourney.

The recruitment processes are there already, we just need to utilise the forum boards to discuss players and make sure that all our t's are dotted and our i's are crossed. I like the idea of a founding sign off on unknown drafts, I think if any of them have serious concearns then that application should either end or be extended for further evaluation until the panel agree unanimously.

So for now we are relying on everyone to nominate, but I hope a resolution will be passed to assign the responsibility of recruitment manager to one person every year. That will give umph, accountability and credibility to parallel free agent drafting and friends drafting processes. For example the RM could present a draft plan, announce x is considered for trial, any concearns, then when x has finished trial here is RM's evaluation and recommendations.

Then the rest of the guys have their say and ultimately the panel sign off or don't sign off. We could potentially refuse a draft for up to 3 months and then if there are still concearns that draft falls away. In any case, even when we have "accepted" a player, we need to see them prove themselves in an undefined period before the grrr tags are issued. Once they're on there's no going back so we must be sure.

- Thanks for the feedback Rus, I know a lot of guys have felt dispondent about not making the competitive team and I think that's because it's either full bore or nothing. If we get our casual team up and going we could potentially change up to 4 guys between the teams each leg. Much more incentive to keep playing and improve me thinks.

As or your personal situation believe me there are spots in the team and you are being seriously considered. You always were, it was just as you said that we didnt want to tinker with something that worked when you were new to the game. You've been playing a while now and I'm confident that you could make a fantastic SL for us, don't stop practicing now! ;)

Hi Guys,

I pretty much agree with what Geth said.
Along the road we have dodged a couple of very dodgy okes due to the normal application process.
One of these guys was Vengence101 I think it was. After being denied membership he was caught hacking a month or so later iirc.
We have always had a quality rather than quantity aproach and that has been whats keeping us afloat all these years. We can still keep this approach but just recruit more actively...

Also what mega stated was the 2 team Dream.I have also liked this idea for some time. This has also opened the doors for the rest of the clan that cant commit to the baggers team time comitments to also be able to participate and have fun....

We could nominate someone to be a draft manager, I personally would prefer it if everyone took an active role.
I think we should set up a Mumble channel for public servers that is distinct from those used for matches. Whenever we find a potential we can invite them onto the Mumble server and try to get some teamwork going. From there we get them to apply on the forum.
I believe that if all of us are more outgoing on public servers, we will make progress.
Build it, and they will come.

Agreed! Let's give it a go as a group and revisit the need to centralise if it's there. We must get a pub server going for BF4 through MWEB, clan funds or whatever that public mumble server could be advertised there and would serve to revisit the community days of BF2. Nice the ideas doth overfloweth.
