R400 - R500 sounds good per jacket.
I like the idea of patches that can be added for various things.
Jackets that tickle my fancy (if I were a man): Nylon M-65, Replica M-51, McGyver - but they seem way more than R500 when converted to Rand?
I like the ladies McGyver Jacket in pewter colour or Ladies Mustang

My vote is the M65-Fishtail but I am really easy. Jarrod, just make sure that they do stock it in the "real-man-size-sizes" as those photos all look like very skinny oaks to me.
With regard to costs, at the end of the day, what we pay is what we get, so I don't know when last people went shopping but R500 for a jacket may not be quite the price range of the jackets that I see on that catalogue. I hope I am wrong, but I have a feeling those jackets will be closer to R700 / R800 per pop. I hope I am wrong.

The guy that I'm talking to has a relative who imports the stuff directly. He'll put me in touch with teh importer directly, and we can talk pricing and options. Obviously, buying in bulk should get us better prices.
I'd very much like to get indicative pricing before I speak to the guy, so that I can immediately start talking options with him. On that, what Denis says is very valid. It seems at this point that R500 is everyone's limit to pay for these jackets. That won't get us much. If people could stretch to R800, we'd be in a lot better shape. It may still require some Slush fund subsidy on top of that, but at least it will give us more options, and a better chance of getting jackets that people will actually want to wear. I'm also happy to look at other suppliers if anybody knows anyone that I can talk to?
No-one has offered to source patches for the jackets, although it seems that most think it's a good idea. Anyone going to step up on this?

I would go for a little higher than R500 as this would be something that would last me for a while.

If I may throw a spanner in the works... Please can we go for black or grey jacket.
If I am going to be spending in excess of R500, I want something that is reasonably neutral and wear-able in other times away from rAge / grrr events.
Just my 2c.. If I am outvoted on this, fine, but I already have an olive jacket very similar to the one we are purchasing. From a "have too much of the same" POV, it would make sense if i got another color..
Not trying to sound greedy or anything here..
