:stupid:

I like every rant/advice given by everyone. I will do what is needed to get with the program!

Now please can we practice this. And we need more than 7 players attending a practice.

Now lets get it together and (hug some trees) kick some ass. :thanks:

Points well taken, Skoups. However, my belief is fielding the strongest team possible on every single match. Furthermore, I was not sure if my line would be stable or not and that is also what influenced my decision into having Paul play.

Regarding armour we spawn with, I think we are putting too much resources into it. This isn't BF2. The armour in this game does not have anywhere near the strength or tactical advantage as it did in BF2. I'm not saying we should just leave our armour sitting there to rot either. As frustrating as it is to repeatedly die in armour (I know, I've been there), in this game I believe armour has a roll of being support to infantry. Armour in this game needs to be smart, but at the same time aggressive. Armour must be up where the troops are at. If the armour goes down, but it enabled troops to get in a cap a flag... consider it job done.

Regarding the enemy's armour, I do not think we should have set plans or tactics to steal it. If anything, it should just be a chance opportunity that arises for someone to take advantage of. When you send 1 or 2 people to steal armour (and most times it is not successful), its almost a guaranteed ticket loss and you are pulling 2 people away from defending / retaking a flag.

To be honest, I do not think I'm the best choice for a SL. I just cannot read this game as I did with BF2. I'd be much more comfortable in a player position following orders.

OK, now my turn to rant

do you all remember my thread - Fly's squad rant?

calling for a STRUCTURE
both Paul and geth disagreed with a (diamond) fixed structure (with reason) but here we are, talking about it. so lets get it GOING :)

and geth, even when i am not in your squad, would you mind letting me know your expectations. ( i know to stick together, and i know i run off sometimes)

I am off so not part of the squad for a while but here are my thoughts.

A squad member should play as much as possible within a 10-15m (virtual) radius of their SL. (Out of nade range, within revive range) If the SL has called a flag as a target then you should quickly move cover to cover. If you see an enemy spot first and assess the situation. It may be more important that your squad gets to cover first before you attract attention to everyone. It may be more important to get to a flag quickly than to engage. Or, you may need to drop the target straight away.
A squad leader cannot tell everyone what to do each and every minute. If you are dead then you have 15s to think about where to spawn and what to do so use the time. If your SL is not busy fighting then they may issue kit/spawn instructions, when in doubt spawn medic on a squad member and work with them to revive and kill.
Being by yourself against a squad of 3 including a medic means that you will die and any of them you kill will be revived. Its a lose/lose situation. We need to be in teams, fighting from strong positions.
If we engage armour and you are a medic then stand behind cover next to an engy, throw down a medpack and cover them from troop attacks whilst they put the hits on the armour.
If you are the engy and need to move to sight armour then ask a medic to go with you. Again, dont wander off alone.
When your SL is moving in on a flag, ffs do not stop to engage, bunny hop if you must but get your ass onto the flag. There should be medics around if you killed.

The best squad player, without a doubt, is Lee. Squad up with him and learn from him, I do. He knows how to use cover and he knows how to support his squad.
