Ok, Steam sale is on and as expected, the will to resist is strong but we will all fail eventually and wonder over to the dark side...
Please list here what caused you to go over to the dark side this year:
My list (thusfar and not planning to extend it (really!))
- 3DMark, (massive discount!, I will recommend this program for everybody as it is the latest version of 3DMark. Realised yesterday that 3dMark06 is perhaps no longer the best peace of software to bench modern GPU's)
- PCMark08 (reasonable discount, if you had to choose one, go with 3DMark above rather as it will help you with gaming decisions more).
- Civilisations IV (or is it V?) Any event, heard a lot about the game, figured I should try it as well.
Now, what pushed you over the edge?

i bought 3dmark at the last sale - worth it IMHO - steam can be installed on as many machines as you like, just only logged in to one at a time. . . so effectively when you buy 3dmark you can install steam and login to any machine you like in the world and run 3dmark benchmark.....nice bonus if you ask me.
Steam - there once was resistance, now you can see the way..........
I love CIV - better than chess by a mountain, long protractive games heavily complex and ultimately rewarding.

Yeah, that's why I also jumped on it immediately when I saw it.
Regarding your comment about chess... now now, let's not get nasty!

Also went into this years sale with the best of intentions, not to buy any more games that I wouldn't play.
So I've bought (so far) Splinter Cell Blacklist, Forced (great little co-op action game, would love it if more people bought it (hint!!)
Holding myself back from buying Black ops 2 today (although I don't know if I'll have the will to last out the day). Keen to get The Stanley Parable too.
I fail at Steam sales

I bought Prison Architect, Saints Row IV and State of Decay
Only played prison Architect so far, clever game if you like the sandbox building type still an alpha though so you cant fry the bastards when they kill a guard.
If you dont own them i would get Tomb Raider for $10 and/or Far Cry 3 for $7.50 before the sale ends
