A possible solution for when we want to squad up in numbers:

" wrote:K BFC got a 32 and 55 player server up.

Clan stacking is welcome/encouraged. We have limited it to 55 for now just to see how the lag goes.

" wrote:I don't mean clan stacking as in bfc/boc/sg all on one side whipping some noobs, i mean like fib and sg on one side while boc, bfc and nsd rock the other side :D

That type of thing. Most of the bfc okes will be on every other night so if you have a clan with 7-10 okes who want to jam together then bring it :D .

As a side note, Lep and I were playing last night against a stacked server of SiB. When the sides became too uneven, I asked them to balance and they did.

I am starting a fund for j0nny and Skoup, just need a couple hundred bucks so they can get a motel room.

/Joking, I think everyone understand the meaning of this thread and that in future we won't have any of these issues, perceived or real

All that I am asking for, is that we just be more cautious when we play on public servers...

^This is the gist of this thread. To those accusing the author of this thread of complaining unnecessarily, take a moment to condsider this:

Denis' post came out of concern for our reputation within the SA community. Woe betide anyone who considers this unworthy of mentioning. :smiley13:

Yup. To use Synergy as an example again: Those of us who have played against them in clannies and met them in person recognise that they are a team of exceptional fps players who gel as a team and as a result brush aside all but the best competition. The majority of SA players however, (those that play on he open servers) would say that they are a bunch of douchebags who side stack the open servers and make the game unpleasant for pretty much anyone else on the server with them.

So, what you are actually saying is that "Legends are made in clan matches, while being a douchbag is confirmed on the public server..."

And the above is not aimed at ANYONE in GRRR before somebody else now takes my freaken head off again...

Also just a quick note, most of us want to practice somehow in their designated teams/squads, so while it's difficult to get everyone together for practice evenings, it's quick and easy to join up with fellow squad members on public if and when you see them. So we need to have that as a consideration.

Also, keep in mind that a small handful of 4 players on any one server stacked to one side is a bunch of friends playnig together, not necessarily stacking. Though 99% of the time we do distribute even in that scenario - last night is the exception I think, it wasnt intentional, just unfortunate that we were lumped with so many bad players stacking on the wrong side. Anyway, we will try to do better in future, no doubt.

Point taken, Denis. The only thing I'd add to this is one of intent. When one thinks of stacking, it is usually considered when a group of players deliberately change teams in order to be on the same side.

Looking at your battle logs, this is clearly not the case. In fact, with the exception of me, everyone stayed on the same team that they started on for the entire evening. It's just an unfortunate situation that on the one side, most of the grrrbians left early, while they stayed on on the other side. Could we have done something about it? Yes. Should we have? I don't know.

Perhaps we need a published code of conduct for public servers? Something that says that whenever there are more than 3 people on the same server, those people should be spread as evenly as possible across both sides? It may seem extreme to do something like this, but it would keep it in people's minds.

I've noticed that on the majority of occasions when joining on grrr players that they ARE side stacking and that it DOES severely imbalance the servers. On more than one occasion I have been disappointed by the conduct of grrr players in this regard. Either I join on the same side and it's boringly easy (and embarrassing to be seen butt-fucking a pack of noobs), or I join on the opposite team (or swop to help them out) and it's like getting face raped.

This disappointing conduct often extends to grrr players practically base camping a noob team in their uncap within minutes of capping all the flags.

I understand that we have some seriously good players and that not many open servers offer substantial resistance to a well-organised bunch of clan members, however, I would HATE for our clan to earn the reputation of side-stacking noob-stompers like Synergy.

Use your common sense; it's not just about numbers per side, it's about ability and rank. The excuse that we need to squad together to get used to each other can easily be countered by the argument that we can get that kind of practice in the scheduled Tues and Wed night sessions that lots of players seem to be oblivious to atm.

Practice in pairs, so that if we have 4 grrbians on a server, we have 2 vs 2 (I am speaking specifically to our leet players - you know who you are).

Remember that the tags you wear carry 6 years of reputation, regardless of how long you have had them before your name. Put honour above your stats. The open servers are not where the real legends are made - you earn that status from pwning in clan matches against other teams of organised soldiers, not pimp-slapping no names.

Lee / Jarrod, I am not raising this because I was on the losing side (I don't care about losing the whole night), neither am I raising it because I was playing on my own, but merely that we as a clan need to be more aware of this in future as it does create an unfriendly environment for the rest of the community who was sitting on the losing team the whole night.

I always brag that GRRR never stack, and that if we see the other side doing badly we swap over, unfortunately yesterday this was clearly not the case. I am as guilty as everybody else is because you are right, the games did go quickly, I enjoyed myself on the server (I had good KD/s most of the night) and I was on TS with you guys, so I did not care about losing. I even tried to swap to your side once or twice to play in the same squad, and never even borthered to ask anybody to come help me out because we were losing.

I would not even have mentioned any of this if Badass did not draw my attention to it at the end of the round and I actually went and checked the battlelog afterwards that I realised just how badly these teams were unbalanced.

With regard to it being a 64 player server, I agree that the guys on the losing side was a bunch of noobs, but that should be even more reason for more of us to go to their side. Imagine you have never played a FPS and nobody is helping you around, all that happens to you the whole night is you spawn die, guess what that person will lose interest very shortly and the gaming community as a whole is worst off. With regard to making an impact, we have all seen it, a well organised squad can make a huge difference even on 64 player servers.

All that I am asking for, is that we just be more cautious when we play on public servers, if you as an individual have won say 4 or 5 rounds in a row, perhaps it is time to just check the team balance. (As I said, I am as guilty as the next)

(Apologies for comments that are off-topic)

The GRRR's may have ended up on one side but it didn't start that way. The balance changed through the course of the night and with so many GRRR's on the losing side on the first round I question the impact of our clan on public servers. I think we all need to work on staying alive, ha ha ha ha staying alive, and capping flags. I notice a lot our clan players losing focus on these simple objectives in Conquest mode. The value of Hubris as a player is his focus on these objectives as well as anticipation of the what the enemy will do. His WL ratio is a tribute to his abilities and I am puzzled why so many experienced GRRR players are so slow to move on flags. We are not that old.

Back to the subject at hand, I regularly change sides to balance teams. If I have failed to notice an imbalance then feel free to ask me to swap. Pls also make sure I have heard the request, the rich gameplay and sound of BF3 means that I don't always register TS comments.
