Tough call that one Sheri. I'd say the Creative X-Fi cards as my first choice (I'd go with the Titanium card), but they are very hard to get hold of in South Africa. I spoke with one of my suppliers, and they reckon that Creative aren't even shipping to SA at the moment.

Another exceptional card is the ASUS Xonar range. I had the Xonar Essence ST, which is magic. Only problem is if you use a 5.1 headset. The card is designed for use with headphones, it even has a headphone amp built into the card, but it's for Stereo headphones. It does have 7.1 output, but that is digital only.

Fantastic card, without a doubt the best Audiophile card on the margket, asn also has good gaming capabilities. But, as I said, only if you use Stereo headphones.

I currently have a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card.
However, its the one with that external thingy and it drives me nuts.

I'm looking for a new sound card... any suggestions?
