It's not a specified game, the winner can choose any single Steam game. The point being that it's a game, rather than an amount of cash.

I could be wrong, but this is the route that I've gone with this. If we get loads of complaints on the SGS thread, then we can reconsider and adjust. Personally though, I don't wan to have to make arrangements to get my hands on a voucher, and then shipping it to the competition winner. Using Steam means that it's an easy game gift.

And if people already have the game? Ok I get the impression you have made a decision already so, Steam Game it is.

Saw your post on SGS, makes sense, full Steam ahead.

Seriously, if people want the game, they can get it. Either by using uncapped, or getting a friend/clanmate to download the files for them. And if they don't like Steam that much, then they can just efreain from entering the competition. I'd prefer to keep it with Steam, as it legitimises our request for entrants to register on the grrr forum, in order to post the steam usernames.

The other advantage of going with Steam is that we get to give away a game - not a voucher for a specified amount. It'll be nice to announce who the winner is at the end, and what game they got as their prize.

As to the runner of the competition being in it, I'd hope that the community at large aren't going to kick up stink if one of us win. After all, it's a fair transparent, web based competition. It's not like the winner is drawn from a hat...

I like the Steam idea, but not everyone has uncapped and I can see how that would be a problem.

If you cap the BT Games voucher at whatever Rand value, that would work.

Steam also works. My BTGames idea was to have the voucher at ~R500 then if the game costs more they can chip in themselves.
I'd rather not have to download a game and I am the only one winning so...
As to more comp rules, its tricky having someone running the comp and entering when you open up to the public...
