I'm going to Tracert Igame / Saix been getting ridiculous Pings as bwell and I've tried 3 other ISP's I can't afford to fork out for dsl accounts...

Dude do a tracert to iGame, Wage and SGS servers. If there are serious delays to all then send an email to Mweb with the traces and ask them like WFT man?

Actually, run traces from both your machine and Iggy's and post all the results here, lets see WTF is going on.

Yeah, if you're on MWeb then you are contending with peering issues. Unless you get a IS account then as Jarrod says you wont get playable ping to SGS. You can try iGame and Wage. I am on IS and I gotta say, all the BC2 servers are KAK at the moment. I think there's a lot of packet loss going on between the players on Telkom's network and those on other networks and the result is serious game lag, even when you get a decent server ping. Shadey, Lee and I tried BC2 last night but gave up and played BO. For some reason BO is less affected by the peering issues.

Ion, I assume that Iggy is spending his gaming time playing BOps? If so, he's going to be playing on MWEB hosted servers all of the time. If you'e playing BC2, you're going to need to be very careful which severs you join. Any SAIX servers, i.e. all of SGS, will result in pings of 500+ because of the peering issue between MWEB and Telkom.

I'm not sure which servers ae 'safe' for you, I'm sure that Lee/Shadey can give details. As WebAfrica does peer with MWEB, you should be okay on the WAGE servers, at least.

first thing I did was closing all applications and I check that my pc wasnt using the internet for which ever reason
I ruled out the possibility that its someone else using the internetas yesterday I was the only person plugged into the internet
I have also changed all the hardware that could possibly cause this within reason

that only leaves ISP and drivers
It cant be the ISP as iggy is gaming fine as we are using the same mweb uncapped account....

I also doubt itsdrivers as my board was recently released and there wont be any worthwhile driver updates yet, but I will check

Do you and Iggy use the same ISP account?
If you have changed hardware (NIC and Router) and Iggy is using the same network then it must be software on your side. Disable antivirus and any windows firewalls and try game.
Try install firewall software and see what else is accessing the internet from your pc.
If you try to ping the servers from command, what are the results?
There are some serious issues at the moment wrt gaming in SA. Some of which can be traced to the fact that Telkom refuses to peer with MWeb.
To sum up, your problem may originate from one of the following:
- ISP
- Software/virus accessing the internet
- Someone else using the internet at the same time
- Hardware: cable, NIC, Router
- Drivers

What ISP do you have?

I am getting these high pings in bc2 and I have no reasonable explanation why as I have tried everything....

Even just tried the solution Geth put down in the 1st post here and NADA.....

When I log in on the game my ping is 550 and stays there no matter what I do. I have swapped the router and also swapped NIC's with no luck. Iggy can play other games with normal pings including BC2. And this also doesnt affect any other online games I play as they are also fine.

Anyone have any ideas what else I can do? this is extremely frustrating!!
