Started downloading this last night, still wasn't finished this morning.

We're now using TS3, Scico.

Channel 1
196.25.210.10 on port 9999
Channel: #grrr
Password: ***** I'll give to you in-game!

My Steam VOIP is fine, I can call friends no problem - a little laggy but ok. I couldn't get the AlienSwarm voip to work :/

Gonna have to check how far out of date my TeamSpeak is, and correct that.
For some reason, Hubris was having issues with the Steam VOIP last night.

Must get back to gaming to jol with you ouens. Spot you on TS, its time to get back to gaming :snipe:

Found some good tips on Steam forums, to implement: create a notepad file and include the following commands (save as "autoexec.cfg"). Then place in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\alien swarm\swarm\cfg -- Be sure to include the "" when saving the text file so it converts to CFG.

This will auto-load the below settings for every game - saving you from entering it manually in the console each game.

asw_fast_reload_under_marine 1

(Places a fast reload bar under your actual marine so you don't need to look in the corner to time your reload. Or rely on the poor cursor fast reload bar.)

asw_marine_labels_cursor_maxdist 1000

(Always show health bars under marines. Good for medics) (I reckon good for everyone to know who's hurting)





You can enable first person with the below by pressing "`" (you will need to enable the developer console in your keyboard settings first). Looks like this doesn't work with the above CFG file and can only be done in game. I reckon not practical for team play but hella fun when you're practicing off-line! :jig:

Oh yes, I also realised if you reload to early you forfeit the ammo in your clip! :slap:

The rail gun sucks.
Sure, it can shoot 3 aliens in a row (assuming they attack in a neat single file), but it carries next to no ammo, and has to reload after every shot.
Wait for the dual pistols...
They carry more ammo than an assault rifle, do more damage, and reload faster. The only negative is don't have grende launchers.

Haha well Lee waited for me to download so we only got through the second mission - I think we're both around level 7 now. Railgun. Will definitely be jamming tonight! SO AWESOME! Love the techno music! :happy2:

And how far through the campaign did you get?
The furthest I have managed so far, is that mission with the flamethrower and bio-mass.

Hubris, myself and NoMad played last night for an hour or two - WHAT A JOL!
Sheesh, I havent had that much fun in a while.

Theres a lot to lurn, so don't be afraid. - it's a tough game - which is what makes it so much fun IMHO
