From looking at previous games I can concur with Murgs. When I dabbled in the dark arts (COD), I became aware of just how mediocre my FPS skills were. In fact when I started COD I didn't even make the average. One of the reasons why I enjoyed and stuck with COD is that it challenged me to become better at basic FPS skills. In particular I enjoyed the kill-cam and player observation features of the game that allow you to learn from other players.
BF2 was in many regards a bit of a spray and pray. Bullet deviation, drop, lag and most of all bad hit detection levelled the playing field a lot. Without the kill-cam in BC2 you will not realise the skill of some of the players in this league. I know them from COD because I spent many hours watching how they pwned me in the kill cam. They are that good.
I do not think we need to over-analyse our strats or squad structure. You will probably find that our strats are pretty solid.
What we do need to focus on is improving our individual skills whenever we have the chance and trying to enjoy and learn from each game.
A tip I learnt once from Assassin is that during your 15sec 'time-out' when you have died, think about how you were killed and what, if anything, you could have done to have avoided it. From that I have realised that tunnel vision is one of my worst habits. I see someone I intend to kill and, after missing him on the first attempt, run straight after him ignoring the rest of the battlefield. Its not a 1 vs 1 game so I see my ass real quick.
Anyways, enuff blurb, wish I could play, have fun kids.
