Firstly, I love Jono's idea of a monthly TS get-together. It will help us all come together as a clan. I miss the smack-talk over TS!
Secondly, I understand where Geth is coming from in regards to the "clan dues". However, I think that we've outgrown that period of time where people contribute because they want to. I admit I've neglected paying anything to the slush fund this year. I only this month contributed the R150 suggested for rAge. For years previous, I was a constant contributor. I was contributing for the benefit of grrr as a whole. I wasn't concerned how the money was used because you are all my family. I thought the slush fund was to help our fellow family members in need... whatever that may be.
Obviously, with new members and such... the direction of the clan has changed. It is my opinion that a member fee must be initiated to cover costs. Really, R50 a month is not a lot. I agree that it is fair that people know what their money is going towards. Anyone with a brain will realize that there will be a surplus of cash. But people that are true grrr won't be bothered by that, right?
Anyway, I understand the need for us to recruit players for a certain game to keep the grrr name "out there". But at the end of the day, we must be careful who we give our tags to. I am proud to wear the grrr tag and don't really want to be associated with people that are going to make our name kak.
